Me @ Isayama about the whole chapter:

To say I hated ch 139 is an understatement. There are like 2 good things that I liked (all about the warriors and Levi) but the rest is so awful.

I don’t believe that the AU thing that Mikasa sees it’s an alternate reality/timeline where she confessed to Eren. I mean, Eren could NEVER see alternate timelines, only the one and only future that was going to happen. Everything that was shown about the Attack Titan power proved it: how Eren manipulated the past to have Grisha kill the Reiss family was something that had “already happened”, not that Eren just changed with Zeke (like Grisha was not going to do it without Eren). How Grisha saw the Rumbling in the future, Kruger saw Armin and Mikasa etc, Eren himself so the rumbling for what was going to be, even the “See you later, Eren” was just a real memory from his death probably sent to the past.

There is no way to know what would have been if she had told the truth, not even for Eren. Eren showed her his idea of what could have happened, maybe, but NOT THE FUTURE. And let’s be real, Eren could have changed his mind and went through with the Rumbling regardless if just one thing had went the wrong way. So Mikasa, don’t yourself up over it.

I need everyone to tell me what happened in the last chapter because it feels like I am reading some kind of creepy fanfic.

With Gabi mentioning the parasite and their goal to destroy it I am now 99% sure that the series will end with the Titan power taken from humanity. I think this could help with solving the situation between Eldians and the other countries as well as save the shifters that are still alive at the end of the series. However it’s hard to tell how many shifters will be alive for them to benefit from the end of the “13 years curse” seeing how things are going.

If Isayama chickens out of the “Eren is bad” plot, I will be upset. No matter how you look at it, Eren was in control during the flashbacks and all the way up to unleashing the power of the founder. We have chapters from his point of view, so there’s not much going around it. Eren knew exactly what was going to happen because when he sees the two brothers he later has killed by the Rumbling, he knew they were going to die. And Eren knew all of it when he tried to contact his brother and for all the time he worked with the Yeagerists. He’s not less at fault because now it’s Ymir who is materially leading the titans, if that’s what Armin was implying in the last chapter.

If it ends with Eren being forgiven or ending up ‘not as bad as it seemed’, Isayama’d better come up with somethinggoodthat explains it. Not just something that makes sense (that’s a given at this point) but something really good and satisfying because anything half-assed at the end just to prove Eren was good all along would be a joke.

I have feeling Cabin Eren will be my demise when he is animated
