According to scientists consensus, there is no place in the ocean without plastic pollution.
Here are two exaples of excepcional records of acummulation of deep-sea litter in the Japan Trench. Plastic bags in the gap made by a big earthquake off Sanriku in Shinkai, at 6272 m depth (picture a) and the Suruga Bay at 2170 m (in the picture b).
These two records come from a research dive done in 1991 by JAMSTEC.
thank you for 10 years of Shadow Chase! You guys are amazing, I appreciate every reader, every comment and every kind of support I was given throughout the way! let’s hope it won’t take me another 10 years to finish. XD I wish I could have made something special to celebrate but uni is super busy, I had a practical exam just yesterday and new study material just keeps coming in. However, I’ll post some fun facts on tumblr later so maybe you’ll enjoy those. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to host a stream today, we’ll see.
I was thinking about maybe having bookmarks or postcards printed for the occasion and those who are interested could get some, you’d need to pay for your shipping though. Anyone interested?
DCMKKaishinEvents is a Kaishin-focused multi-event blog on Tumblr! Its purpose is to bring together the Kaishin communitiy through various types of short-term and long-term fanworks events, including but not limited to ship/character weeks, exchanges, bangs, charity auctions, and other challenges. You can check out our past events here if you like!
This interest check exists to determine what kinds of events folks might be interested in participating in during the 2022 calendar year, and to crowd-source other types of events that haven’t been considered.
Please consider taking a few minutes to fill out this survey. It’s a ranking-style survey with the option to add your own ideas for events not mentioned already, and it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes of your time.
The interest check is open until January 9. Please reblog to spread the word!
Random background pictures from Shinkai. The first one is a poster picture of his new movie which will air in Japan later this year. Kimi no na wa seems very promising.
Since 5cm per second he has had a better understanding of importance of the photography department (job in charge final editing and combining of pictures as well in charge of the special effects and light&shadow). He can make any background look awesome.
Makoto Shinkai’s movie Kotonoha no Niwa - the Garden of Words is mindblowingly beautiful. The level of detail is superb. Shinkai has a deep undestanding how to use shadows as well as bright lights. He knows how to make even an ordinary scene look extraordinary. Even the most basic things like sitting on a bench can be breathtaking when you watch Shinkai’s movie.
