instead, focus your support on the actual haitian people and organizations run on the ground by haitians in haiti, not ngos organized without any connection to the country. support haitians in the diaspora to support their families back in haiti. one example of a trusted organization is the haiti emergency relief fund supported by the haiti information project, they work directly with organizations in okay (les cayes) that were impacted by the earthquake. send $$$ there or to other trusted anti-imperialist orgs before any kind of usaid type of situation.

EMERGENCY REHOME of two very good INDOOR boys (10/25/2021)
They don’t need to go together. In fact, they shouldn’t. But I need them out by December. I don’t want to rehome them, but I’m trying to escape my abusive family and sadly despite my best efforts the clock has run out on finding a place where I would be able to keep my animals.

He’s a 1yo neutered male and A VERY CLEVER BOI. This photo doesn’t do his eyes justice: they are fiery orange. He needs someone energetic and willing to play with him. He likes to play tag and usually instigates the game himself. He’s also a champion at fetch and will absolutely follow you everywhere you go, just really happy to be in whatever room you are… say goodbye to bathroom privacy. He’s trained to wear a harness but is a little afraid of the outdoors. He has no trouble at all having his nails done. He makes a pretty lousy lap cat most of the time, but he is an absolute dream and I love him so much. His voice is SUPER SMALL and quiet and he rarely vocalizes at all.
He has a cat wheel and will run on it, so if you want that too let me know and we can work out a fair price for it.

He is a 5yo neutered male. In colder months, he has an absolutely luxuriously thick and soft coat. In warmer months, he looks like a totally different cat. I have never seen a cat with such a drastic difference in appearance between seasons. Positively gorgeous silver tabby, yo.
He has approximately 0.003 brain cells, but he is EXTREMELY sweet and that kind of makes up for all the cobwebs in his noggin. He should probably be an only cat, or a snuggle buddy for an equally chill and/or elderly cat. He has gotten along swimmingly with other cats in the past, but he does NOT like Crow. Their personalities are far too different. Unlike Crow, he can be pretty vocal and loud.
He is harness trained. His prey drive is VERY, VERY high. Please for the love of your local wildlife, keep this man inside when he is not restrained and supervised. He has flea allergies: another reason he needs to be indoors.

Gonna add on to this: From the other side of the bar, I see this crap all the time. Seriously. I work at a high-density bar, and let me tell you, I have anywhere from 10-20 guys every night come up and tell me to, “serve her a stronger drink, I’m trying to get lucky tonight, know what I mean?” usually accompanied with a wink and a gesture at a girl who, in my experience, is going to go from mildly buzzed to definitively hammered if I keep serving her. Now, I like to think I’m a responsible bartender, so I usually tell guys like that to piss off, and, if I can, try to tell the girl’s more sober friends that they need to keep an eye on her. But everyone- just so you know, most of the time, when someone you don’t know is buying you a drink, they’re NOT doing it out of a sense of cordiality, they’re buying you a drink for the sole purpose of making you let your guard down. So:
Tips for getting drinks-
1. ALWAYS GO TO THE BAR TO GET YOUR OWN DRINK, DO NOT LET STRANGERS CARRY YOUR DRINKS. This is an opportune time for dropping something into your cocktail, and you’re none the wiser.
2.IF YOU ORDER SOMETHING NON-ALCOHOLIC, I promise you, the bartender doesn’t give two shits that you’re not drinking cocktails with your friends, and often, totally understands that you don’t want to let your guard down around strangers. Usually, you can just tell the bartender that you’d like something light, and that’s a big clue to us that you’re uncomfortable with whomever you’re standing next to. Again, we see this all the time.
3. If you’re in a position to where you feel uncomfortable not ordering alcohol:
Here’s a list of light liquors, and mixers that won’t get you drunk, and will still look like an actual cocktail:
X-rated + sprite = easy to drink, sweet, and 12% alcoholic content. Not strong at all, usually runs $6-$8, depending on your state.
Amaretto + sour= sweet, not strong, 26%.
Peach Schnapps+ ginger ale= tastes like mellow butterscotch, 24%.
Melon liquor (Midori, in most bars) + soda water = not overly sweet, 21%
Coffee liquor (Kahlua) +soda = not super sweet, 20%.

I’m really sorry to be making this post again, but my council tax bill came out earlier than expected, and my account is now overdrawn and I’m back to square one with needing help to pay off these court fees.
As most of you are already aware from my previous post, I have been struggling financially for quite some time due to my welfare benefits being under a review, which is due to my worsening mental health and the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. And at the moment, I’m currently struggling to get by, as I don’t get any help until the end of the month, and I am still awaiting the outcome of my PIPAssessment(April 2021 at the latest)
These court fees are from my court case back in 2017, in which my rent arrears were over £1000. At the time, I had lost a loved one and then my job due to stress and mental health issues and couldn’t afford to pay it. I eventually managed to pay the arrears off, but now I’ve been billed for the court fees of £101.88, which is to be paid in 28 days, or my case will be reopened!!
If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would literally save my life, and sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody is obligated in any way to donate if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling right now.

Private individuals — including anti-abortion activists with no connection to patients — can now sue ANYONE who they believe is providing abortion or assisting someone in accessing abortion after six weeks.

The law doesn’t just allow these lawsuits — it actively encourages private individuals to act as bounty hunters by awarding them at least $10,000 if they are successful.
This is a racial and economic justice catastrophe. Decades of racism and structural inequality within the health care system have left Black and Latinx people and anyone trying to make ends meet with few alternatives to the cruel reality that Texas politicians have created.

Today, Taliban forces have largely taken control of the capital, leaving no sanctuary for women from these brutal extremists.

As most of you are already aware from my previous posts, I have been struggling financially these past few months due to my welfare benefit (Universal Credit) being under a review, which is due to my worsening mental/physical health and the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. And last week I attended an appointment with my work coach, where I told them of my latest PCOS diagnosis and medication increase for my MDD. However, since that appointment, I have been feeling increasingly unwell with headaches, nausea and a fever, and after taking several flow tests, I’ve tested positive with Covid and I have to isolate for two-three weeks.
I know this is a huge ask, and I’m completely heartbroken to be asking for help again, but I desperately need some, as I need to get groceries delivered and medicine to help with my symptoms/pain relief until I’m cleared.
