He can’t decide whether to stay in Unova with his brother, or move to New York with his sister.

“Yeah nephew, that’s right, he moved out here for health reasons!“

I imagine Nuzleaf must’ve come up with a pretty convincing story to have him suddenly show up with a kid pokemon, that may or may not actually be in his egg group.
