My Dad introduced me to The Milk Carton Kids. Love their harmony, folky-ness, and overall sound. Will be listening to a lot more of their stuff.

Runaway- Del Shannon

The kind of music I used to listen to while swimming in the river when the weather warmed up. My Dad would hook up the outdoor speakers and blast everything from the 50s to 70s while I putzed around singing Simon & Garunkel, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, and The Everly Brothers.

Last night on Jimmy Fallon, Black Simon and Garfunkel aka The Root’s Captain Kirk Douglas and Questlove covered The Weekend’s I Can’t Feel My Face. The surprise guest was ½ of their namesake Art Garfunkel who joined the duo and added sweet harmony even though this was probably his first time hearing of The Weeknd. Check it out HERE

I love “pigeon-toed” Artie.

Not everything in this article is accurate, notably the misspelling of Artie’s name, but still cute nonetheless. Also, He Was My Brother was written before Andrew Goodman died and was dedicated to his memory after the song was written. That’s why in later performances, “this town is gonna be your burying place” changes to “Mississippi’s gonna be your burying place”.
