Some scenery pictures of Pleasantfort, in case you need a break from the orange sands of Arizona! :D

There’s still a long way to go! I need to build the townie owned businesses, like the tavern for example, and of course the Pleasant Castle, the Burb and Oldie Estates and the Jacoban Church. These lots will be huge and, honestly, I’m a bit intimidated… I will use references for the castle and estates to try and make them look as realistic as possible; I will probably use pictures of German Castles, ‘cause I’ve seen some astonishing sceneries on Instagram and I would be super intrigued in recreating such buildings in the game. I’m open to suggestions!

I’m taking my time to upload new stuff. Mainly because I’m obsessed with a game called “Going medieval”. (It’s available on steam, still early access, but I love it already.)

When I’m doing sims-stuff, I’m working on my new hood. Since I never came around to build a castle or the kanal in Twinhills, I started this process now.

And it’s slowly coming together. :D

Last, but not least: afbodysuit. If my notes are correct, including this and double-checking Xia’s Masterlist of clothing defaults + default database, every piece of adult female clothing, that is available in catalogue should have a replacement, that works in a medieval fantasy game.

So, why not “end” on a high note, using one of @vampirekiss6661 beautiful clothing conversions from TSM? It’s the TSM wizard gown. This replacement uses the “Pirate” recolour.
The only change I made, was to nullify the empty body texture to reduce file size.

image

Since VampireKiss6661 has been generous with her meshes in the past and allowed me to include her work before, I took the liberty to include the mesh in the upload, so you won’t have to hunt it down yourself.

Speaking of which: The mesh has morphs! So, the replacement is categorised as everyday, formal and maternity wear. It will use the normal shoe sound.

image

If you don’t want to use the replacement, a custom version is available at PBKandat VampireKiss6661′s tumblr.

All files have been compressed. Preview pictures are included in the archive.

As I stated before: The mesh is included with thanks.

Remembermy recolors for the epic sleeve dress? Enough time had passed, so I was able to look at it again.

It wasn’t the first thing, that popped into my head, when gathering ideas for this replacement. But after writing “party”, “colorful” and “kinda crazy” in my notebook, I thought, that parti-coloured garments with very big sleeves would fit the bill.

And since I already made decent textures for such gowns, I edited them and put them on the epic sleeve dress. Because I knew, what I was in for, when editing the sleeves, it wasn’t such a hassle as before, but still the mesh is big and prone to clipping.

Anywho: This is my replacement for afbodyravelegwarmer.

image

I go out on a limb again, because technically this mesh has been edited by Gwenke for Almighty Hat and I pilfered it from the forum post at Garden of Shadows. (But the conversation is pretty old, so it might be okay?)

The dresses can be worn as everyday and formal clothing. Pregnant sims can wear it too. It’s townie friendly and uses the normal shoe sound. The polycount is reasonable, the “heavy” part of these dresses are the 2 textures per outfit (on the other hand, EAxis original uses 3 diffrent textures per outfit)

image

I haven’t included custom files, because to be honest: I didn’t want to. If I upload custom versions, I want to include teen dresses and proper tooltipps and I’m just not in the mood to make that happen right now.

The mesh is included in the archive, but not attached to the replacement. You’ll need both packages for the replacement to work.

Get your confetti, it’s time to celebrate! Including this, all adult female bottoms are replaced. Much wow. And we haven’t even reached part 50 yet.

Anyway, focusing on the matter at hand: Here is a replacement for afbottomstarjeans.

These are recolours of cynnix’s scarf wrapped peasant skirt with flats. I took sunni’s peasant dress and tried my best to create a convincing scarf texture… Kinda worked? The top part looks a little too flat to me. The bottom part has been pilfered from a lovely texture… I’m not certain, where it came from. If you recognise it and know, who made it, let me know.
All in all: These might require a little more work, but it is bearable for now.

image

The skirts are sorted into everyday, formal and maternity category. They use the normal shoe sound.

Since combinations with diffrent tops varied between “kinda okay” and “I want to gauge my eyes out”, the skirts are not townie friendly.

The preview pictures have been taken with fireflowers’s viking underdress with fitted sleeves.

Happy simming!

I’ve uploaded the custom skirts, now you get the default replacement, it had been made for: afbottomslinkyskirtboots.

I recoloured one of Cynnix’s skirts to look like a full body outfit. There are some spots, where tops may peep through.

image

The skirts are available in the everyday, formal and maternity category. They will use the normal shoe sound. They might spawn on townies.

Depending on the top you’re using these bottoms with, you might get varying results.
Preview pictures show the bottoms with Almighty Hat’s Placket Tops.

If you don’t want to use the default, a custom version is available here.

This time installation is really easy. No masterfiles or other shenanigans.

For a change: Clothing recolours I made myself… sort of.

Cynnix uploaded a plethora of separates. There are so many meshes available on the page! Just lovely.

I took the full skirt mesh with turnshoes, addded a dress texture by sunni, a belt by iamliz13 and some lacing by sherabim to create sleeveless kirtles.

image

The replacements are sorted into everyday, formal and maternity category. They might spawn on townies and use the normal shoe sound.

Depending on the top, the skirts’ look might vary. The previews show them with my replacement for aftoppoloshirt (fireflower’s viking underdress tops)

If you don’t want to use the replacement, custom versions are here.

There are 2 versions of this default: Standalone or Separated.

If you don’t want to deal with my referencing system, then get the standalone file. All required resources (except the mesh) are included and you won’t need any other files.

The separated version requires one extra file: “MASTERFILE_CynnixFSTS-sleevelesskirtle-bmp_12Raben”. This package only contains the normal map, all skirts are linked to.

But as said in previous posts: Only one copy of my masterfiles is required.

Have I ever mentioned, that I’m not good with naming stuff? I’m not good with naming stuff.
Today I share some skirts as the title suggests. These are recolours for Cynnix’s full skirt and slim skirt with turnshoesand@deedee-sims‘smaxi skirt with gladiator sandals.

image

I apologise for any typos. I am currently very tired, but wanted to upload this asap, since coming defaults, will use some of these skirts as a base. And my replacement for afbottomskirttight already included one of them.

The skirts are available for diffrent age groups and slightly diffrent styles.
If I’m counting correctly this upload contains 51 skirts.

image

From left to right: Full skirt, slim skirt and maxi skirt.

First things first: These are bottom clothing.

This means, depending on the top you combine the skirts with your results might vary. The necklines gave me a little headache, because it took me an embarrasing long time to figure out, why the textures seem to “jump” sometimes. Yeah. It was because of the top mesh. I tested these with prevalentuntuckedmeshesfor medieval clothing and those worked fine.
Most default Eaxis meshes do not play nicely. However, the skirts were made to replace eaxian clothing, so one would think, that it might make sense to use top replacements as well. (It is been rumored, that someone did that already)

Because I’m not a mesh creator, not all styles are avaiable for all ages. I also have yet to learn, how colors work, so textures with the same name do not look 100% the same.

Let’s go by alphabetical order:

Cynnix’s full skirt with Turnshoe - Sleeveless Kirtles

image
image

They are available for child, teen and adult sims. The skirts are categorised as everyday and formal wear. Adult and teen skirts can also be worn as maternity clothing. They’ll use the “normal shoe” sound.

As it is tradition, the skirts share their normal map. Teen skirts reference adult skirts to save disk space.

I had some issues with the child skirts, when I first tried to reference adult textures:

image

That’s why I created new textures for them. Child skirts will work on their own.
I removed their normal map as well. It made them unfortunatly flat, but I didn’t want to clutter the upload more than necessary.

Turnaround for child and teen skirts:

image

Adult and teen skirts look exactly the same by the way.

As you might have spotted too: The textures at the bottom do not line up. I didn’t really notice at first. When I did, I was just too lazy to fix that to be honest.

They will not spawn on townies. The reason beeing: If you combine them with Almighty Hat’s Placket tops, the placket is peeping through. Maybe not noticeable at first glance, but noticeable enough to annoy me.

image

Cynnix’s slim skirt - Simple dress

Inspired by Almighty Hat’s Kirtles with aprons, I made a skirt, that covers a good part of the top, so it looks more like a dress.
The feet don’t have a texture, so diffrent textures for socks/hose (applied to a top) can be shown. The mesh is nice, because it isn’t long, but includes accurate footwear. It made me think about peasants on the fields, who don’t want to drag long skirts through the mud.

image
image

The skirts are categorised as everyday and formal wear. Adult and teen skirts can also be worn as maternity clothing. They use the normal shoe sound.

I removed all bump maps. Shading did enough levelling on the texture as far as I’m concerned.

image

I made the child textures first, after encountering the problems on the full skirt mesh. The child textures are a little squeezed on the hip, but is not noticeable enough for me to care.
These skirts are easily combined with untuckable tops, so they are townie friendly. The plackets of Almighty Hat’s tops will peep through the small lacing.

image

From left to right combined with:

DeeDee’s maxi skirt with sandals - More sleeveless kirtles

I did these last and by that time, the momentum had left me to be honest. Still, I already shared my default for afbottomskirttight and annonced, that I will share the customs, so here we are:

image
image

The mesh is not available for children, but for elders. You might know by now, that I prefer to have elders in the eaxian elder shape, rather than adult, so I’m always happy to find meshes for that shape, that are at least vaguely historic.

They are categorised as everyday and formal wear. Adult skirts can be worn as maternity clothing too. They use the sandal sound.

image

I honestly don’t know anymore, why I only made 5 recolors and changed rust to brown. I’m sorry. My brain has not been reliable. This whole thing took waaaay longer, than I thought it would and I don’t want to deal with these skirts any time in the near future.

Since these skirts use almost the same texture as the ones for the full skirt, they have the same “problem”. The placket of Almighty Hat’s Placket tops would peep through, if one would combine them, so they are not available for townies.

The dreaded technical info

Merged, Separated, Masterfiles - oh, the agony. If you just want a quick guide, then scroll down to the downloads.

Merged or separated?

All sets come in both versions.

If you like all colours, then get the merged files. The packages include multiple skirts at once. They are only split up by ages.

If you want to pick colours get the separated files. These packages will add one skirt at a time to your game, so you can delete the ones you don’t like.
Only thing to watch out for:
The recolours for Cynnix’s full skirt come with a separate masterfile (MASTERFILE_CynnixFSTS-sleevelesskirtle-bmp_12Raben), which contains the normal map all skirts of that set are linked to.
So please, don’t forget to add it.

But most importantly: Adult skirts provide textures for ALL sets, so to use ANY OTHER AGE GROUP, you’ll have to use the adult files.

All files have been compressed. I added toolipps. Preview pictures are included in the archive and files have been clearly named.

Per the generous policies of both Cynnix and DeeDee, the required meshes are included with thanks.

One could probably made one longer post and include more than one default everytime. I think, the last 2 posts were almost exclusively copy + paste. Aw, well: If you have read the other recent posts, you can probably skip to the download button right away.

Anyhow: This is a replacement for afbottomshortshorts including a new masterfile. (Or not if you prefer the standalone versions.)

This time using Almighty Hat’s files for a change. These are her versatile wide-laced kirtles.

Since Almighty Hat created 80% of medieval separates, I’m familiar with, I used her files again to replace afbottomshorts.

I was a little inconsistent, when sorting my replacements into clothing categories. Usually I had this rule in my head, that anything, that has an apron, won’t be sorted into formal category. But for some reason, I decided to sort almost all separate clothing into formal anyway. I’m fixing that now, as I’m stuffing the queue.

(Clearly missed it with afbottomkasa. Did you know, that there is a really easy method to re-sort clothing?)
