A Japanese Wall Hanging (Sims 3 Conversion)

Cloned from the BG RW Clock (as I like a bit of ‘added focusing’ to my Zen rooms for meditation), there are 25 swatches (as shown). The calligraphy is again by the incredibly talented KisaragiChiyo @DeviantArt, the flowers are taken from ukiyo-e by Tanagami. Found under Decor | Wall, they cost §305 each. Mesh is from Sims 3. I had wanted to release these with Seasons, but…

Trippin’ on the Tryps

Two files, each with 8 different tryptiches (sp?) in 3 different frames, for a total of 24 swatches in each file. Cloned from a BG painting, shown above at regular size. As has been long established, I totally suck at screenshots. These are ‘behind glass’, hence the color variation of each shot from right to left (reflection). Found under Decor | Wall, I left them ‘pricey’ at §1455, like the original clone. I honestly cannot remember the individual artists, as I have WAY too many downloaded and cleaned (by vectorization) ukiyo-e to keep track of well. However, that said, an Excellent resource that I love to tap regularly is the Smithsonian Libraries - @smithsonianlibraries here on tumblr. They keep an Amazing collection of antique Japanese print books online from their collection.

50 Aspects of the Moon [Yoshitoshi - 月岡 芳年]

Here I offer a clone of the large-sized BG painting canvas, to which I have added 50 out of the 100 “Aspects of the Moon” by my Favorite ukiyo-e artist Yoshitoshi.      

There is a lot of ‘background’ work that I did on these images… Originally from large-format scans of original prints, I vectorized them all individually, and then made a (rather large) .PDF of them combined. So, in other words, not photographic textures.

Find under Decoration|Wall, by my name 'minimo’, or by my icon. Inexpensive at only 50 Simoleons each.

How Many Lanterns Can You Count?

Actually, the title of this post is a trick question. There is only one functioning lantern in the screenshots above (in the foreground). The ones to the side of the fountain are non-functional, merely for deco, and the others that are in the fountain are actually FX from the game, pre-set in the configurations you see above. There are two different FX shown, each with a different selection of lanterns in a different layout. They have a lovely animated water-floating ‘ring’ around each one that I do not believe is present with any other option. I tied them each to a BG single lilypad.

Also shown and offered are (all BGC):

- the already mentioned single deco lantern (9 swatches)
- a lit, 'working’ single lantern cloned from a BG table light (with flame)(9 swatches)
- a clone of the BG blooming lilypads with the new 'koi pond’ FX attached to it
- five clones of a BG rock, to which I have attached a different color of the cute (but kinda noisy) onibi spirits (two shown above in fountain)
- two of the stone deco 'lanterns’ from SE, cloned into a BG rock. One is slotted for a light (not included)(each has 4 swatches).
- a clone of the EF (Holiday) Pig, with a fountain FX added (7 swatches)
- two torii gates, cloned into & re-sized as BG Wedding Arches. Shown @ 1X size above. (8 swatches each - white, dark wood & red)

Also included but not BGC is an onibi spawner, which is fully interactive as the regular originals are. To get it to show in the Catalogue, you must use bb.showhiddenobjects. They re-spawn, and are a random color each time.

I honestly DO NOT know if the lanterns FX is completely BGC (available w/o SE) - I would LOVE for somebody to let me know!!!

DIY ‘tansu’ (BGC Storage & Dressers)

Offering up another piece of my Asian obsession, this time in the form of build-it-yourself Japanese-styled 'tansu’. There are way too many variations on real tansu, so I tried my best to make it so that you could have the style that suits you best. The individual pieces are displayed in the foreground.

How to tell the difference between them? The dresser versions are to be found under Storage | Dressers, and the storage chest versions can be found under Storage | Misc. (seriously not trying to be cheeky there…), however the storage versions are the ones with the extra 'handles’ on their faces (the brown set above). Each version comes with 18 swatches, light brown wood, dark brown wood, red 'lacquer’ and black 'lacquer’ - each with or without the 'striped’ wood sides. The storage pieces come in two sizes (in case someone wanted Huge storage/moving crates), the dresser version only in the 'half-size’. (two sizes so that the slotting/stacking behaviour works properly)

The current amount of items that I have assembled for this is @ 130 (only ~33 were from already made .packages), however in-between taking the screenshots and writing this, I added another seven items. I really need to seek some help, I guess… o_0
