These Televisions Are Getting Out Of Hand (Base Game Floor TVs)

The two moving photo backgrounds from M.S., cloned into Base Game televisions. I changed the UV on the curved to display properly… As shown in the screenies, the are compatible with DJ-ing, Livestreaming, Video Gaming, Movies and any Television Channels. The each have three swatches, same as most other game screens: White, Grey and Black-ish. They could easily be re-colored, if one so desires.

Just a Little Somethin’ To Enjoy

I am pretty excited for tomorrow’s release, even though I didn’t pre-order it this time I will be getting it as soon as I wake up. I am most excited for the familiars, which will very much help to satisfy my longing for something akin to the Holopets from Sims 3 ITF, and am thrilled that one can have them all to select from, and not be forced to make any kind of agonizing choices between the myriad selection that they have made for us to enjoy.

That said, this effect from the portal is truly one of the most Beautiful effects that I have ever seen in a video game. It is so very mesmerizing that I found myself simply staring at its gentle flow of colors and ignoring my Sims… This is cloned from the BG reward Zen Garden, and is too tall for a Short wall so fits in a Medium or Large room (or simply outdoors), two tiles wide, and available in five swatches. No custom tuning, and of course is BGC (as long as one is current with the latest patch…).

Found under Decor | Misc., and can be found by searching ‘minimo’ (I am now using the amazing name-hiding trick so that I myself am no longer annoyed by having my screen name on all of my own CC).

Planted In The Spot (Or Are They?)

There has been some amazingly lovely plant-based CC released lately, this is something that I had been making right around the IL release to go with a new build. I took two planters, one BG (3 variations, 6 swatches each) and one from EP01 (4 variations, 7 swatches each) (EP01 required), removed the plants, added slotting(s), and then selected 15 different plants (with 2 ‘extra’ bamboo stalk choices for decorating) to be able to place into them for better choices for indoor plants. I used a BG vase as the clone for the plants, and because I am a goof, left the 'Live Drag’ for them enabled, I guess for reasons… (?)

I also added as many color swatch variations to the plants as looked best - for example the Hala has only the one swatch, but the fern(s) have 10 swatches…

In converting the plants, I removed all of the 'Seasons’ instructions of changes ('cause they are really for interiors, I felt), and also made sure that the leaves showed texture on both sides, otherwise they would tend to 'disappear’ at different angles…

Aquaria (Part Three of Three) [Bits & Bobs]

Now that the game has been ‘fixed’ enough that I can stand to enter it for any amount of time, I am FINALLY releasing the remaining parts of my Aquaria Set. I had wanted to include some screenshots of the UI options, but I guess that little detail missed this patch - Oh Well…

Included in this post are the tabletop aquariums that I had done right before the release of Cats & Dogs, as well as the aquarium tables that I made as Base Game alternatives for the one released with MFPS. Those have two different versions - one similar to the MFPS one, with pre-set collections of fish (Custom Tuning), and another that has 11 slots inside with accompanying small 'fishbowl’ rocks that one places inside of the table to be able to place the fish of your choice (No Custom Tuning), as well as both having a full set of slots on top of the table to work with (9 Large & 16 Medium slots). They are both available with 25 swatches - 5 different edges (black, white, dark brown, light brown and 'red lacquer’) as well as having differing choices of interiors (5 each). Place the small rocks for the interior before trying to decorate the tops, as if there is an open slot inside the tank from an un-placed rock slot, the game will want to place any small-slotted item inside.

There are two variations of the Base Game 'extra’ fishbowls, with some of the interior 'clutter’ removed and re-colored. They also stack, as well as the coffee tables, just in case you want to conserve space while trying to complete the Fishing aspiration with its requirement of mounting or bowling fish.

I took the EP01 Lab Tube, widened it, and added two extra slots into the interior, that has an accompanying tiny geode to use for the 'aquarium’ part of it (EP01 required for both). I didn’t worry (read: bother) with making an interior water effect for the tube itself. Shown above with the three geodes fully stocked.

Lastly, to round out the release, are some select items from Sulani’s seas for larger aquaria. All base game compatible, I took one of the coral reefs and re-sized it to what I felt looked right for this purpose, then added 10 slots onto it for placement of the additional items that act as aquariums. Those are (as shown above): a coral branch, a sponge lump, the sponge tubes, and the starfish all with 5 swatches each. They act as regular aquariums when clicked on - just choose 'Open’ to begin adding the fish of your choice. Each holds 6 fish, and as with the previous Aquaria rocks, all are somewhat varied with the placement of the fish for maximum 'random’ effect. (It is Best to be 'inside’ of the Aquaria to be able to use the options for fish placement) (there’s also a wall starfish as a bonus)

I may at some 'near’ date release some of my variations of Default Replacement fishing spot signs and some new ponds for lots. Maybe…

50 Aspects of the Moon [Yoshitoshi - 月岡 芳年]

Here I offer a clone of the large-sized BG painting canvas, to which I have added 50 out of the 100 “Aspects of the Moon” by my Favorite ukiyo-e artist Yoshitoshi.      

There is a lot of ‘background’ work that I did on these images… Originally from large-format scans of original prints, I vectorized them all individually, and then made a (rather large) .PDF of them combined. So, in other words, not photographic textures.

Find under Decoration|Wall, by my name 'minimo’, or by my icon. Inexpensive at only 50 Simoleons each.

MMore Kakejiku

When I first saw the trailer for Snowy Escape, my first thought was that it was a fan-made trailer, as so many of the items in it seemed as if they were CC to me. The kakejiku were one of the main reasons that I got the pack.

While I could have ‘gone wild’ with recoloring them, I calmed myself and decided to simply expand upon the same styles & colors that Maxis made. These are cloned from a BG item, so are BGC, and as a 'bonus’, for the first time I have included within the archive a .PSD file with the texture separated so you can re-color them easily to your own heart’s content…

At the time I made these, I did not have access to any of the terabytes of my reserved Asian art for texturing (I actually still don’t have access to all of it…), so I just grabbed a few select images that I thought most matched the aesthetic that Maxis made.

65 swatches in two files, as stated all using the original colors that Maxis did, so you can mix & match if so desired… (A few more releases are on their way using the same crappy screenshots…)

How Many Lanterns Can You Count?

Actually, the title of this post is a trick question. There is only one functioning lantern in the screenshots above (in the foreground). The ones to the side of the fountain are non-functional, merely for deco, and the others that are in the fountain are actually FX from the game, pre-set in the configurations you see above. There are two different FX shown, each with a different selection of lanterns in a different layout. They have a lovely animated water-floating ‘ring’ around each one that I do not believe is present with any other option. I tied them each to a BG single lilypad.

Also shown and offered are (all BGC):

- the already mentioned single deco lantern (9 swatches)
- a lit, 'working’ single lantern cloned from a BG table light (with flame)(9 swatches)
- a clone of the BG blooming lilypads with the new 'koi pond’ FX attached to it
- five clones of a BG rock, to which I have attached a different color of the cute (but kinda noisy) onibi spirits (two shown above in fountain)
- two of the stone deco 'lanterns’ from SE, cloned into a BG rock. One is slotted for a light (not included)(each has 4 swatches).
- a clone of the EF (Holiday) Pig, with a fountain FX added (7 swatches)
- two torii gates, cloned into & re-sized as BG Wedding Arches. Shown @ 1X size above. (8 swatches each - white, dark wood & red)

Also included but not BGC is an onibi spawner, which is fully interactive as the regular originals are. To get it to show in the Catalogue, you must use bb.showhiddenobjects. They re-spawn, and are a random color each time.

I honestly DO NOT know if the lanterns FX is completely BGC (available w/o SE) - I would LOVE for somebody to let me know!!!

DIY ‘tansu’ (BGC Storage & Dressers)

Offering up another piece of my Asian obsession, this time in the form of build-it-yourself Japanese-styled 'tansu’. There are way too many variations on real tansu, so I tried my best to make it so that you could have the style that suits you best. The individual pieces are displayed in the foreground.

How to tell the difference between them? The dresser versions are to be found under Storage | Dressers, and the storage chest versions can be found under Storage | Misc. (seriously not trying to be cheeky there…), however the storage versions are the ones with the extra 'handles’ on their faces (the brown set above). Each version comes with 18 swatches, light brown wood, dark brown wood, red 'lacquer’ and black 'lacquer’ - each with or without the 'striped’ wood sides. The storage pieces come in two sizes (in case someone wanted Huge storage/moving crates), the dresser version only in the 'half-size’. (two sizes so that the slotting/stacking behaviour works properly)

Ignoring The Signs

Three used-to-be-billboards, taken from debug, previously released by @brazenlotus as liberated Get Famous items, however Maxis actualy patched them into the Base Game (for some reason). I had already made these for myself when Studio updated for EP06 when she made her release. I removed the support scaffolding, turned them into wall signs, and added a few extra variations (2 with 7, 1 with 6). Shown above made smaller by 2X on a Medium wall. As I wrote, these are Base Game items, so yeah…

On The Way To Kathmandu… (Tibetan-style Tangkhas)

I know, Kathmandu is in Nepal, but you get the idea… The main set here on the wall is cloned from BG items, and includes the tangkha itself (15 swatches), the draped banner (7 swatches) and the garland (11 swatches). You will need to use moo to place them as I did above.

Additionally, I have included the new Asian garden lights, cloned from a Dine Out candle (GP03 required), three choices of size, 16 swatches (8 white candle, 8 red candle), and the little flower scatter, cloned from the GP03 (required) table flowers with 10 swatches.

Octween Treats: The Objects (Pack Additions)

A ‘sweet’ selection of miscellaneous items that I have to share for this time of year. Some older, but never released, some new…

• The Base Game 'Family Portrait’, which has an absolutely Amazing Art Deco frame, rotated to Portrait, re-textured frame (available in four choices - Gold, Pewter, Silver, and Gold & Black) with 8 different selections of image from a Major Arcana (one not shown). I selected these to coordinate with RoM, as I really wanted the frames to be able to use with the Art Nouveau that we received. Total of 36 variations.
• I took the Base Game Reward Ice Llama Statue, and cloned into it three different statues, along with mirrored variants. The each come with 2 - 5 texture choices, all slight variations of the ones shown above. I have matching GP04 statues listed below…
  
• Selections exclusively taken from Vampires (required), as these were what I most needed from that pack for decorating for the Holiday (and for just reasons…). The one floor cabinet, (originals shown in the corners) with the glass doors removed, and given appropriate slots for the shelves (two Medium on in the center shelf, Small slots on the rest); The gargoyle roof corbel, made into a small (but not resized) shelf for your walls. Several choices of slot. All original swatches, with two extra (having gilt gold faces); The Cucukachoo glass dome, made 2X size, emptied, and slotted inside. One can place & remove items under the glass…; Three lights from Vampires - the Large ceiling chandelier, made into a floor version (31 variations), the Small ceiling chandelier, made into a table lamp (34 variations) , and lastly the caged candle floor lamp (original choices), made into a Large-slot table lamp. I am afraid that the floor and table chandeliers are not the 'greatest’ for close-up screenshots, as the candle flame FX were coded for ceiling lighting, which all invariably fades when approached with the camera, so these candle flames do the same when near with a camera…; two of the three large pedestals made half-narrow yet the same height, all original swatches wit the two white & gold and Black & Gold extras that all of the items have; the wall Gargoyle Statue, with the 'extra’ removed for a cleaner statue that matches the BG Ice one above, as well as a mirrored variant of the Fairy Statue, in case one does not already have one…; Lastly one item that I found unusual with the Vampires items - in that I felt as if it were 'incomplete’ for some reason - the 'wall fountain’. I cloned it, removed the back-lighting (yet left the glowing water intact), and added the fountain FX from the Romantic Garden Lionhead one (R.G. NOT required).
• To round out the offerings for the season, I have also made available two spawners from two different packs, that may be found when using bb.showhidddenobjects - the Island Ancestors from EP07, and the Magic Motes from GP08. The Ancestors may be interacted with as if one were on the Islands, and can give the blessing just the same. They both show up in debug as small orange markers, which disappear upon placement in B/B mode. They will respawn once used…
