Two very stylistically similar video interviews with two very awesome pairs of people. Me gustan.

Sleigh Bells, above, discuss their upcoming record with Rolling Stone, and how awesome playing the 9:30 Club was. (I haven’t been there in ages, which makes me really sad. Would have killed to have been at that show.)

BF/GF dream-pop combo Wavves and Best Coast (Nathan Williams and Bethany Cosentino, respectively), talk with Pitchfork about sporks, tramp stamps and Justin Bieber.

Sleigh Bells’ Where Did You Sleep Last Night might be one of the most interesting and rad covers to come out of the woodwork this year. The noise pop duo give classic folk and blues hit from legendary Louisiana musician Lead Belly a total revamp. Their new version, which was first featured in the trailer for director Reed Morano’s upcoming film The Rhythm Section (starring Blake Lively, Jude Law, and more), is as fiercely chilling as it is stormily powerful.

Says the band about the track: “We first met Reed Morano in 2013 when she acted as cinematographer for our ‘Bitter Rivals’ video. Not only was she a stellar DP but she was exceptionally kind, funny, creative, smart and humble. She left a real impression on us and her tremendous success is no surprise. We’ve kept in touch with Reed over the years as her body of work has grown, and were honored this summer when she asked us to cover Lead Belly’s ‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night’ for the trailer for her upcoming film The Rhythm Section. The Nirvana and Lead Belly versions of the song are total classics, but with some apprehension we decided to give it a shot. Reed and her team made an incredible trailer, and we’re happy to share the full version of our cover today.” If you’re curious how they’ve changed it up from the original, listen to Leed Belly’s song on YouTube, here. Way to ruin Valentines Day Sleigh Bells.

There latest album, Reign of Terror, was looking like a nice little romantic noise pop gift. But now it’s being pushed back a week for a February 21st release. What fun is that?

Is there anything more quintessentially first wold problematic, than being pissed that an album’s been delayed for a week? Have a listen to there new single, Born to Lose, though.
