In fashionably late fashion, here’s my 2021 xmas card design! I drew this entirely in Procreate and also tried out the timelapse feature; I find it fascinating to watch a recording of myself draw an entire piece in 30 seconds (which I will upload in a reblog to this post)
The djinn designs are based off of existing ones from the Dark Dawn series, just with added festive flair c: From top to bottom: Clover, Tinder, Serac, and Lull

The first commercial Christmas cards were commissioned by Sir Henry Cole in London in 1843 and featured an illustration by John Callcott Horsley. The picture, of a family with a small child drinking wine together, proved controversial, but the idea was shrewd: Cole had helped introduce the Penny Post three years earlier. Two batches totaling 2,050 cards were printed and sold that year for a shilling each.
Today is National Christmas Card Day. The city of Elkhorn, WI is known as the Christmas Card Town. Every year, the city commissions an artist to paint a new holiday scene for their official Christmas cards. This year’s work by T. James Carson depicts the historic train station.
