lord forgive me but I may have to make a nonessential purchase

It’s not always bad to buy nonessential, unless you believe it is bad…Then buying nonessential is bad. Maybe consider each nonessential: carefully.

“FMA is bad because it portrays war criminals as sympathetic, likable people” bro that’s the point. That’s the whole point. That is THE point. Did you think Ethnic Cleanser is some kind of special category of person that gets separated away from all the Good People at birth? Did you think there’s some kind of barn full of Genocide Doers that only gets deployed into the general public during world wars? Did you think assholes who do terrible shit in real life are never charming or likable or capable of doing good things and helping people? One of the best parts of FMA is how we the audience realize that some of our core protags have made irredeemable choices, and we have to reckon with the fact that they’re still people, with the unalienable rights and qualities thereof. Sorry if the Problematics aren’t constantly wearing a dunce cap and a list of all their crimes and this makes the media incomprehensible to you

An important thread by certified catboy.

Screenshot transcript: Whenever a new bl game or anime or manga or smthn comes out there’s always ppl like “I better not see any women read/watch/play this” or “wait till the women get to this” and that is not the allyship to mlm u think it is. That’s just misogyny. I say this so many times but you cannot have full queer representation and normalization in media without allowing EVERYONE to read and partake in it. I’m so tired of seeing this performative activism let people enjoy boys kissing. It’s not fetishization until it’s translated onto real mlm/nblm, by micromanaging who can read what queer media depending on their labels n shit is so sickening man, we WANT queer media to be enjoyed by all, not gatekept and further isolated from others.

The thing that gets me is that it’s always BL and not gay men’s media.

Like… do they know what BL is? It seems like they don’t.

Office cubicle goals! x

Serious big dick energy

kinda cringe that he plans on staying there long enough that it’s worth decorating his cubicle like that

Damn, cant believe its cringe to give yourself a happy place at work

victory

OK but I saw this thread on twitter a few days ago. Guy said thanks to this dude going all out on his cube and the management thinking it was like, the coolest shit, they are gonna start giving employees a budget to personalize their space. So yeah this IS more likely the kind of company you wanna stick with because they saw an employee go OFF on the decorating and instead of asking him to dial it back said “…holy shit we never thought of this, this is AWESOME go you!”

Don’t just take it from us– our users love Pillowfort.io, and Kotaku writer Gita Jackson also had great things to say about our site.Check out our Kickstarter for your opportunity to get in on Pillowfort.io while we’re still in private beta!

Yo there’s about 6k of 39k so this needs some reblogs and love. I have an account and it’s definitely going to be a fantastic site if it can get the support it needs. If you can’t contribute please just reblog.

honestly one of the best community experiences i’ve ever had, and i’m terrible with talking to new people. there’s not much on here yet, but it’s got a lovely atmosphere. it feels safe to enjoy things there, and i haven’t felt safe in a long, longtime.

best features yet: the ability to limit who sees your posts, and the ability to make them unrebloggable. you wouldn’t think that makes such a huge difference, but it does.

there’s also this thing where the only ‘activity page’ you get is your replies page, which means you need to talk to people to “get that good #validation.” it’s super weird to get used to at first, but it forces you to make connections with a bunch of people who are in the same boat.

they have a demo account up for poking around the site, but it really doesn’t showcase pillowfort’s strengths—the (accidental or intentional) focus on community-building, and the privacy options that make that a safe endeavor.

i’d really love to see this site get off the ground and into open beta, so please check out the kickstarter! the best $5 you’ll ever spend, i swear.

Y’all, we know we need more options, and so far pillowfort is ticking boxes I really, really want. If you migrated to tumblr from LJ, this service will be a breath of relief.

god I just. love ruthlessness as a character trait so much. sexy sexy sexy

this one. absolutely in love with this definition. give me a character who thinks like this and I’ll love them to pieces

Ruthless can be defined as “without ruth” or “having no ruth.” So what is ruth? The noun ruth means “compassion for the misery of another,” “sorrow for one’s own faults,” or “remorse.” And, just as it is possible for one to be without ruth, it is also possible to be full of ruth. The antonym of ruthless is ruthful, meaning “full of ruth” or “tender.” Ruthful can also mean “full of sorrow” or “causing sorrow.” Ruth can be traced back to the Middle English noun ruthe, itself from ruen, meaning “to rue” or “to feel regret, remorse, or sorrow.” (Merriam-Webster)

Huh. Someone who is ruthless is literally living their life with “no regrets.”

do you think the obsession with ‘style consistency’ in online art communities is mostly caused by this idea that your art style needs to be easily marketable & recognizable as a brand (especially when you’re working as a freelancer). i see the /least/ amount of progress in my art whenever i try to aim for style consistency. i don’t know exactly where i’m going with this but i think there’s some sort of connection between trying to monetize/market your art & limiting your growth as an artist. and i think it’s very sad.
