Oh boy here we go. I usually don’t post serious stuff but this scarecrow is nostalgic af.
It’s Wizard101’s birthday! A whole fat ten years this game has been out and let me tell you I enjoyed every year of this game. Okay so I first discovered this game when it first came out in 2008. I walked in on my brother playing it. I use to share an account with him and used his wizards but we always wanted to play at the same time, so I eventually made my own account, the same one I have to this day.
A History of Wizards
My very first wizard was a Fire named Vaness BoomTail. Being very young and very new to this game, this was the wizard I made all my mistakes on. I only used gear for looks, not stats, I have any friends, and I would always just run into battle dick out unprepared. My very first pet I got was in Krokotopia, which was a Heck Hound named Buster. He has such nostalgia attached to him I carry him in my backpack still on my main wizard! After a little ways into Krokotopia, I decided Fire wasn’t for me. I made a new wizard which was a Life wizard named Molly Ghoststeed, which was another mistake wizard. Molly was more cringey because I finally got text chat and had a wizard boyfriend for like a day. I got Molly to Dragonspyre and wanted another wizard, hence my Balance named Hayley Night. Hayley was a little cringey, but not as cringey as the first two. I was older and started to understand the game more. I even met my best wizard friend on that wizard. A myth wizard named Brooke BlueBreeze (if you’re reading this Brooke pls get on I miss you). I looked up to Brooke as she was such a higher level than me. I soon made a Myth named Sarah JadeStone. My myth is currently in Azteca and boy is it a struggle. I never understood how Brooke made it to max so fast with each new world. After getting to Avalon on my myth I decided I wanted to try a Death wizard. My Death is currently my main named Isabella Crow. Myth and Deth are my top favorite schools by far.
Emotional Attachment
This game means a lot to me. I’ll get tired and bored of it, but I always find my way back to this game. I will be playing Skyrim one day and the next thing I know, I’m binging Wiz for the next week. I started this game when I was 7. I am now 17 and I have played Wiz every year since it came out (still don’t have a max RIP). this game helped me get through a lot. Whenever I’m stressed or feeling down, I just get on Wiz and I’ll be feeling better. I have so many memories of sitting in the livingroom playing Wiz and watching my favorite Disney Channel show, both while trying to finish my math homework. So many memories of running through the Great Spyre on my Myth trying to get the gear while my grandma was in the kitchen cooking dinner. I am never going to let this game go. It has played a major role in my life and I will never forget it.
Thank you Kingsisle for keeping this game alive for so long and thank you Wizard101 for giving me good memories and being there in rough times. Most importantly, thank you guys, the Wizard101 tumblr community, for letting me be apart of this and for giving so much love on my memes. I love you guys ❤️
So, a few of you have probably been wondering “hey, where’s the funny tumblr man who posts about the funny fruit man??” and ig I finally owe an explanation as to why it’s been pretty quiet over here.
I have quite a lot going on, and one man can only take so much harassment before he loses the motivation to do or post anything (not harassment specifically towards this blog but to me in general) and I’ve been so busy trying to fix broken things I just haven’t had the time to be on here. Plus a lack of interest in WOY in general means I have little to no content to hand out.
You probably won’t see many more posts coming from here. If you do see one then hey today’s all our lucky day. Might pop on once every few days to reblog some art but that’s probably the most you’ll hear from me outside of DMs. Ciao for now, tumblr!
