And yet, the more I’ve experienced, the more I’ve learned that no matter how far we travel, or how fast we get there, the most profound discoveries are not necessarily beyond that next star. They’re within us, woven into the threads that bind us, all of us, to each other. A final frontier begins in this hall. Let’s explore it together.

Star Trek Crew Dynamics, A Summary

TOS: A queer friend group that has been together since they were in school would die for each other, but they are compelled to complain about it the whole time

TNG: A bunch of people with family issues decide to be as loving a found family as possible while the universe continues to refuse to let any of them be nerds in peace

DS9: A group of messy people with the energy of housemates who have miraculously not burned down the house yet are at least able to unite to try to deal with their much shittier neighbors

VOY: A woman who was Assigned Mom Friend At Birth finds out what it’s like to be a middle school teacher on a hiking field trip, except the stakes are way higher

ENT: A group of coworkers has no idea what they’re doing, but they’ll be damned if they’re not gonna fuck around and find out anyway, which ultimately results in a desire to unionize

DIS: A bunch of highly talented and deeply depressed people decide to suffer together because the one thing they have in common is how much no one prepared them for this level of bullshit, like college students in a constant state of finals week

LD: A deeply dysfunctional friend group is in possession of exactly no braincells, and it’s frankly astounding that they haven’t killed each other or themselves yet, but still they persist, like unholy bastions of mediocrity

Well well well, yet another reason I didn’t even realize is so relatable about Janeway.
