[ Yoonkook au where it’s just another night after his shift at work for jungkook

He changes into some comfy clothes, a pair of joggers and a large hoodie, picks up a couple of bags of his favorite chips from a cupboard and a bottle of tea from the fridge

In no time he’s sitting in front of his computer, ready to continue playing a game he purchased a few days prior and has been keeping him entertained ever since

The game consists on solving the mystery surrounding a small town with the help of yoongi, a young man that recently moved to the area and has quickly developed a friendship with his oddly friendly neighbor, that often appears on their building hallways and staircases smiling and offering help with anything and everything

On his last gaming session, jungkook heard from the npcs in the neighborhood that their apparent gentle neighbor was an even more odd one, always keeping to himself when he wasn’t trying to pry on his and yoongi’s businesses; which could be further noticed by how he usually only showed interest in the people that visited the town or in its new residents, who all mysteriously end up disappearing after a while, leaving their belongings and new place behind without a word

Jungkook finishes his round of the neighborhood and walks his character to the front of yoongi’s door, as the option to warn him of possible danger appeared on computer screen. He knocks on the surface to no avail, yoongi didn’t seem to be home

It takes him a minute, but he finally remembers that on the last time he talked to yoongi he had told him he was planning on visiting his neighbor and sharing some of the hotteok he’d made in the evening. He’d offered jungkook some as well, to which jungkook was quick to accept by selecting the “accept one” option on the screen followed by “thanks, I’ll be sure to repay you later!” instead of the simple “thank you!”

And now, with freshly collected information from the npcs and a half eaten bag of chips on his lap, is when a shiver runs down jungkook’s spine and he realizes he might’ve selected the option that’d trigger the big events of the game

He approaches the neighbor’s apartment slowly but excitedly, and soon he starts hearing muffled screams and dull thuds

He bangs on the door but, just like with yoongi’s, he gets no response and is left with only one option: to knock it down

Pain shoots through his real arm when he does it, splinters flying everywhere, and when the door hits the ground, he realizes he isn’t controlling a character anymore, he’s the one who’s knocked it down, with the force of his own real body

He barely has time to register he’s been is transported inside the game, he can only make up yoongi’s form inside the room, freeing himself from the chair he’d been strapped on

The neighbor notices the commotion and pulls an axe from the side of a couch, brandishing it around and aiming it at yoongi

Fortunately, the man only manages to smash the empty chair, as yoongi’s already running in jungkook’s direction, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the exit of the apartment building

Jungkook can’t fully comprehend what’s going on, he just knows that the option he selected the day prior triggered more than a simple in game event, and now he must help yoongi escape from his murderous neighbor and save the town, all with his own life on the line as well ]

[ enemies to lovers yoonkook au where yoongi owns a small coffee shop in a busy street downtown and jungkook’s a young ceo wanting to buy the store to expand his chain of restaurants 

the coffee shop isn’t doing so well, it has its regular clients, but what yoongi earns is barely enough to pay his bills and the loan he took to finish culinary school

he’s torn between the two options before him, finally having enough money to be financially stable or securing his own business for the future, and jungkook isn’t making his decision any easier by offering him way more than his coffee shop is actually worth for

obviously the ceo isn’t doing it out of the goodness of his heart, the place the coffee shop is at is extremely strategic given its location, with as many big companies in the buildings around it as one can count: law firms, accounting offices, modeling agencies and also jungkook’s other restaurants

having the location would grant jungkook a monopoly in the area and he’s ready to do anything he can to get it 

the only thing he didn’t expect was the offer yoongi made him: co-owning half of the new restaurant and running it as the head chef ]

the place seems empty, if not for the ridiculous amount of flowers and vines covering it from floor to ceiling, but soon a young man walks towards the counter from a back door, smiling peacefully with his eyes closed while humming a happy tune

the tag on his shirt reads jungkook and his clothes look like they’re from another era—the style is at least sixty years old, yoongi guesses—and the song coming from his closed lips is equally as old

yoongi stares at the man and a weird feeling lodges itself at the pit of his stomach as time seems to stop and all the plants seem spin around him

he finds purchase on a shelf and turns towards the entrance to have a look outside, trying to figure out what was wrong, and his eyes widen when they land on the people and the cars passing by:

he’s gone back in time

from behind the counter, jungkook still smiles at him, wider now and with eyes shining dangerously,

“hi, what can I help you with today?” ]

out of all the things he thought he’d be surprised by, he doesn’t understand how the man living in the cottage next to the campus could be so cute

he sees the man everyday when he’s leaving his dorm, sitting on his porch and reading a book while having some tea, never raising his head to catch jungkook dumbfoundedly staring at him

during his first trip to the library, after a particularly complicated music theory class, jungkook is once again surprised by the mysterious man, inconspicuously sitting at the library clerk desk and smiling up at him, asking if he needs any help

jungkook sucks in a breath and thinks he might need more help than with just books ]

after drifting for a few days after a storm, his boat reaches a seemingly remote island, with a cute house in its middle, an impressive hot air balloon tied up on a small hill to the side, and a pretty boy picking flowers at the back

jungkook doesn’t know if he’s dreaming, if he’s dead, or if this is just what life has in store for him, but his uneasiness dissipates as he approaches the boy and receives a comforting smile in return ]
