Ever wondered what Harry and Draco might get up to if they visited your country? Maybe you’re longing for a holiday (who isn’t?) or want to wallow in nostalgia about your favourite destination. Here I present the solution! Inspired by @the-starryknight’sDrarry Round The World challenge and @graymatters’ fabulous Big Bang fic set in Alaska, I’ve put together four reclists of fics featuring our favourite boys abroad.
A few notes on the lists: all the fics are >1.5k words (ish), the first three lists feature fics with a single or primary destination, and I did not include AUs eg. Beauxbatons!Draco. When putting these lists together I tried to select fics where the country in question is explored/described in detail and integral to the story (so ‘resort abroad’ stories may not be included). I also haven’t added Major Archive Warnings so please check these before reading.

I wrote this, my first foray into cross-gen, for the lovely @sitp-recs, who’s been gracing fandom with her presence for two whole years now. When I was but a wee-un, staying up late into the night to devour longfic after longfic on my phone, months before I even dreamt of writing anything myself (or even had a Tumblr), I used to check out the latest sitp-recs rec to find my newest obsession. I discovered so many of my faves (and now my friends) through Liv, and I just thought it’s worth thinking about the sheer number of people who are probably doing the same as I did, right now. When I finally started writing, I remember thinking to myself that getting a sitp-recs rec would be like the highest fandom accolade. I couldn’t believe it the day it finally happened!
I only got chatting to Liv after joining fandom last year; we had friends in common and everyone was telling me how lovely she was, and of course they were absolutely right. It’s been great to get to know you, Liv, and to have someone else to shout about all my favourite fics with. I hope you’re having a wonderful day and feeling thoroughly loved and spoiled <3

Ahhh L, you precious precious human! This is such an incredible and thoughtful gift I’m still thinking about it one week later. It’s an honour to see one of my favorite authors - and a dear friend - venturing into cross-gen for the very first time, to celebrate my blogversary no less!! And be still my heart, what a lovely, refreshing and sexy little Dralbus you came up with, my body cannot handle their chemistry
This has a very distinct vibe and hits differently from anything I’ve seen with this ship so far. I LOVE that we get to see things from Al’s POV - his voice is a delight and I’m fascinated by the fact that he sounds both young and jaded, a bit naive yet disenchanted in a way that feels quite realistic. The 20s be like that, especially when you attend wedding parties I related to his doubts about the future and to his bittersweet feelings towards Scorpius, but I love that this made him connect with Draco on another level, too. There’s this depth about both characters that makes it clear this is a conversation between two adults who understand each other and yet the dialogue is still light, casual and tentative, it blows my mind! And good god I’m so here for hot daddy Draco, he’s ridiculously sexy while sounding caring and earnest. It’s obvious he cares about Al and I had so much fun watching our confused lil puppy trying to figure out what was going on there
This is a perfect read for anyone who’s curious about this ship, or just venturing into cross-gen in general. It’s a light and darling story, wistful but full of hope, with scorching sexual tension and a first kiss that takes your breath away just as much as a smut sequence would have! This is 1.7k of UST goodness that made me smile and salivate in the span of five seconds, that’s how talented SS is! I felt so very seen and loved by this wonderful treat my friend, thank you so so much for thinking of me, for being my taste twin and for sharing this fandom life with me! I appreciate our friendship a whole lot and I hope we get many more years loving these 2 idiots, fics and creators together!!
