Not to get to specific, but I really, really hope there was an equally gay visual artist at the party I went to last weekend that saw me–high as fuck in my astrological-print skater dress, fishnet stockings, and black booties–basking in glow of the slightly masc, afab enby wearing a loose racerback tank top who shared their weed with me, their arms perched on the high armrests of their chair so that their armpit hair was open for all to see. I hope this artist is inspired to draw the minutes that seemed infinite so that I can see what I looked like I hung on this other enby’s word, hypnotized and dying for them to pick me up, carry me into the bathroom, pin me against the wall, and tell me I’m beautiful.
There is freedom in the design. Beauty in the plan. Dreams in the making. Any GOOD journey is well thought out. But GREAT journeys happen when you are willing to savor the unexpected.
You can never savor the journey, if you can’t thirst for the dream.
