It has recently come to my attention that tumblr user geoneotv (whom I finally feel comfortable naming, now that they’re being publicly called out for the racism, fetishization, and tokenism in their art) has declared that they are “brave” for speaking out against people who ship freemance. In light of this, I think it’s about time I spoke publicly about all the abuse I have endured over the last few months from the anti-freemance crowd, seeing as Geo’s been their loudest and most abusive ringleader.
I don’t know if Geo is directly, personally responsible for any of the shit that’s gone down in my inbox, but I know they’ve dedicated an awful lot of energy to getting new Half Life fans riled up about this absolute non-issue, and they are absolutely at least partially to blame for how out of control this has gotten.
