at the sight of her walking towards him, sweet pea took a sharp intake of breath. there she was, aspen, his princess, all grown up and positively glowing. in front of him, aspen gave a shy smile as she flattened out the lace of her dress against her skin. she had been waiting for this moment for as long as she could remember, possibly since the first day they’d met and finally it was here. at the altar, her father john placed a kiss against her cheek before shaking sweet pea’s hand and taking his seat. “you look…” sweet pea breathed, though unable to find the words he simply gestured vaguely, “god, I love you.”
