As a butch lesbian, I always felt that my experiences mirror those of a trans woman much more than those of a trans man. We are both often denied our womanhood/femininity bc it doesn’t link up with society’s expectations, and fear mongerers make us out to be predatory of innocent “normal” women.

AFAB butches (and afab women/woman-aligned ppl in general) NEED to step up and support trans women. We need to uplift and empower them, and we need to give them the platform, space, and resources to speak for themselves. We need to stand behind them vehemently and we need to put the effort into making the world better and safer for them. Trans women fostered the creation of the LGBT community and we need to give back

Trans women should be welcomed into women’s spaces and trans lesbians need to be welcomed into lesbian spaces. These are our sisters and it would be unjustifiable to shut them out

Self-care is doing chores??
Yes, sometimes. Learning that lesson has been important for me!

You don’t have to do everything for yourself all the time (everyone needs help sometimes!), but when you can’t get out of it and have trouble mustering the energy, remember that you’re giving future you a gift. Maybe it will help. ❤️
