I’ve been replaying Fallen Order and I’m still not over how sadthis game is.

It’s a story about hope, sure, but the amount of trauma Cal has to go through is astonishing, it’s just one sad and traumatized Jedi after one sad and traumatized fallen Jedi and the poor kid ALSO has to go through echoes in the Force of the death of Jedi masters and padawans and so many clones and stormtroopers. He keeps saying that it’s very difficult for him to be on Ilum, that walking in the Venator wreckage is like picking at the bones of his old life, and this comment is even worse when you remember that scrapping old Venator ships used to be his job. Cal endures endures endures, like all Jedi do.I’m just so sorry for him, for all of them, god this game is so sad.

Can we please stop associating being a good person with how much you’re willing to suffer in silence for other people? You can be a kind person and still say “no, I don’t have the time/energy to help you with that.” You can be a kind person and still say “this makes me uncomfortable, please stop.” You can be a kind person and still say “I disagree and here’s why.” You can be kind and still say “I’m not okay with this.” Being kind is about treating people with kindness and respect, not about being the human equivalent of a doormat!

If your ADHD is causing you to fuck up more, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the ADHD is getting worse.. you could just be doing more things which gives you more opportunity to fuck up.

This is one of the reasons, ADHD can get ‘worse’ as an adult. A child has very few responsibilities. An adult on the other hand, has all kinds of opportunities to fuck up on.

Goes for other disabilities too. Sometimes it seems like it’s “getting worse” when what’s really happening is that circumstances have changed in a way that makes the symptoms more obvious and detrimental.

VERY important advice. Don’t beat yourself up. Adulting is HARD.

“No but Nesta only told feyre critical information to hurt her!” Don’t care, at least she told her. I’d rather ppl angrily tell me shit I need to know than keep the truth from me to spare my feelings.

Also, nesta was afraid of rhysand. It’s fun to pretend like she wasn’t but she definitely knew that he would use violence against her if she made him mad. He also did use violence against her to make her show submission in this book. So the hypothetical situation where nesta calmly tells feyre the risks of her pregnancy because she feels feyre needs to know can’t exist in canon without nesta putting her life on the line.

It’s almost like the potential threat of violence has some effect on people’s willingness to keep secrets for powerful people…

In response to some things I’ve been seeing for some time now regarding Sara Ramírez and some “fans” (+ a bunch of asks I’ve received over time I have ignored):

I think some people really need to understand that Sara is a real person, with real feelings, with a life that doesn’t revolve around a fictional couple, who doesn’t owe us anything whatsoever. Ever since she left Grey’s, there’s been this growing number of tweets and posts where “fans” constantly talk about & criticize her. Her life, her looks, her relationship status, her tweets, how she interacts with fans, what she says, the list goes on and on.

As soon as she stepped out of this little box people had put her in, where she didn’t live up to expectations of who she should be, all y’all can seem to do is criticize every single thing she does or doesn’t do, compare her with others, tear her down. A while back, she talked about a fan encounter where she was told “You’re not who I thought I was” and how that’s the way she often feels. Think about that and then think about how “fans” have talked about her over the past two years, the tweets she’s been tagged in, the shade. How people say she’s changed, how she was prettier/better before, the assumptions people have made about her personal life. All of that plays into fans thinking they’re entitled to shit they’re not.

Celebrities are not there to please us or fit into an image we’ve created of them. Sara’s not ungrateful because she left, or because she didn’t guest star in the season finale or because she didn’t tweet about a fictional couple. Sara doesn’t owe us anything. Sara gave us ten years of Calliope Torres, which is something I, personally, will be forever grateful for. She continuously advocates for the LGBTQ+ community (and other minorities), she uses her platform to raise her voice.

The shit that’s been said about Sara for the past two years has been biphobic, misogynistic, sometimes racist, terribly intrusive, completely unnecessary, and all-around horrible. I think we should really think about whether we’ve been part of this, re-evaluate what messages we’re putting out there, and you know, just stop.

I do not have energy for the rant about the incredible Bad Read that is “characters dying in a story means the characters are supposed to be Morally Wrong by the narrative’s lights” but like

what a Bad Read. What a terrible stunning lack of interpretive skills. What the hell.  The rant is alive in my soul.

Clearly if we’d been meant to sympathize with the Little Match Girl she would have something something bootstraps and survived.

more queer media aimed at young teenagers not just so the new wave of young queer kids have positive, joyful, proud representation, but also for those of us who grew up without it. who had to suppress it and ignore and make it palatable because the media was cold and uncaring. who had to settle for sexualization and fetishization and closeting and death. more positive queer media aimed at young teenagers so they can grow with it and so we can heal the inner thirteen year old who was cringey and awkward and queer and just wanted to be loved so, so badly

———————–

The snow-desert air is humid and hot, and the tension thickens the air until each breath feels like fog.
They’ve been circling in conversation for a while now. For all their fancy words, it’s a rut.
Quackity wants the outpost gone. Tubbo wants the outpost left alone.
Both sides know that they’re both being unreasonable. Two immovable objects.

Tubbo looks nonplussed. Ranboo looks confused.
“You’re intimidated by two children making walls?”

Quackity doesn’t know Ranboo that well. He knows enough not to trust him, but beyond that…the kid’s made so many friends and so few enemies that it’s hard to get a read on who he is.
But he knows Tubbo. He knows him all too well.

It’s dawned on Quackity throughout the conversation that Tubbo won’t fall for the same thing twice.
And he saw a lot of what Quackity could do - during the elections, during Manburg, during New L'manburg. Tubbo watched Quackity pull out his bag of tricks on Wilbur, on Schlatt, and even on him - the Butcher Army was Quackity’s idea to begin with, even if it was the President who gave the final order.
Tubbo’s a quick learner, let alone for his age. And he’s stubborn as an old goat.
And that combination isn’t good for Quackity right now. He’s dealing with Wilbur, and with Dream, and with trying to keep Slimecicle from giving away state secrets (Quackity swears he doesn’t actually tell him any, but the slime is a good spy at the wrong times). He can’t have another problem waiting to happen.

The last time they’d really been at odds, Tubbo had been running on pure rage and defensiveness, and still managed to lock Quackity in a verbal corner.  He’s grown up fast.
There’s no way this is just for cookies, but he can’t prove anything. Tubbo’s made sure of that.
And if the rumors are true, he’s even more ready to make good on his threats than before. They dance around the topic, but the Gandhi that Tubbo speaks of is not a peaceful man. If anyone on the server could pull off what he’s implying, what Quackity’s intel confirms, it would be Tubbo.
Tubbo’s too smart to leave unchecked, and he’s gotten more unpredictable with time. He’s learned all of Quackity’s tricks, and is ready to throw them back. Tubbo is fed up with being manipulated.
Quackity taught him too well, even when he didn’t know he was teaching.

Foolish doesn’t know Tubbo too well. He seems pretty cool, and enthusiastic about the mansion to live in, but the rumors say he was really busy right before Foolish came to the server, and he’s probably become a little less of a people person from all of it.
But he knows Ranboo. At least, he knows him a little better.

Ranboo’s a good guy! He’s friendly, and he pays well, and he doesn’t like making people upset. He just wants people to be happy. That’s a good thing.
And he cares a lot about Tubbo. They were gonna live in the mansion together. You have to really like a person to be willing to put up with living with them for extended periods of time.
So it makes sense that if Tubbo’s serious about this cookie outpost thing, then Ranboo is going to back him up. Maybe a little less confrontationally, but that’s just Ranboo’s style.

But Foolish remembers the Shulker Agreement. Ranboo was…a little different.
He’s always been a little different, but he was a different kind of different right then. More confident. Less jittery. Very…convincing.
He was very clear about how the deal was going to work, and yet Foolish still came away feeling like something happened that wasn’t supposed to happen.
Maybe it was something about Ranboo’s eyes. Foolish sees the world a little off-color - the price of the gleamin’ greens he’s got - but Ranboo’s eyes are definitely normally a different color. During negotiations, he could’ve sworn they were the same, and neither of them the color they were supposed to be.
Or maybe Foolish had been staring at the chandelier too long again. It did things to his head.
Ranboo said he was good at getting what he wanted. It makes the innocent act right now all the more unsettling.

Ranboo’s question hangs in the air.
Are they intimidated by two children making walls? Around a cookie farm?

“Yes.”
The word falls matter-of-factly from Foolish’s mouth. He’s intimidated.
Quackity smacks him on the arm to shut him up, and tries not to wince at the impact of his hand on the hard muscles. Ow.
Just because it’s true doesn’t mean they should say it.
