MÅNESKIN #StandUpForUkraine

How are you sleeping at night

How do you close both your eyes

Living with all of those lives

On your hands

Standing alone on that hill

Using your fuel to kill

We won’t take it standing still

Watch us dance

We’re gonna dance on gasoline

YOU’RE LISTENING TO MÅNESKIN: SUNDAY’S

It’s that time of the week again!!!

I thought this week we’ll do:

FOR YOUR LOVE

What are you thoughts about it? Any favourite live performance of it?

I never really took much notice of it initially when listening to teatro d'ira vol 1, until Måneskin performed it live (I think it was their TikTok performance). The music is amazing, the live electric guitar, bass, drums, when Damiano hits that note etc.

Send in your thoughts <3

This song is my favourite English-language Måneskin song because of how strong and impactful the melody and rhythm are. It has the added bonus that all 4 members get to shine on their own:

Thomas’ solo is undoubtedly my favourite solo of his in any Må song. It’s beautiful and energising and hits you right in the chest and grabs you by the lapels and shakes you awake.

Victoria’s baseline in the second half just before thomas’ solo is so simple but so powerful and the way she plays it whenever they’re live is captivating.

Ethan gets his own actual solo!!!!! With the coolest funkiest beat that carries on throughout the guitar solos!! It’s bouncy and direct and makes me want to pick up some drumsticks and hit random things hehe ^_^

I love the note changes Damiano does from the recorded version when they perform it live; they add so much to the vocal impact.

In conclusion: YES

mmaneskin:

Måneskin were so humble about winning Eurovision. They cried, hugged and celebrated. It meant so much to them.

What went through your minds when it sunk in that you had actually won Eurovision?

It’s an unbelievable feeling. We feel like everything we did since the day we met and started playing on the streets is really making sense and it’s worth it. Being recognised at such a huge level for us means everything. When we throw away all the stuff that’s around us, we’re just four friends playing music and we’re playing the music that we love.

for starters, on this picture they look like on a graduation album.

secondly, I just now noticed that their jackets are different and I want to kiss their stylist.

so, the whole point is in the lapels.

by and large, Thomas as usual. you guys dress in the same style, and I will dress as I want. because everyone’s blazers are tuxedos. except for thomas’s, of course. the main elements of the tuxedo jacket are: satin lapels (thommy, slit for a buttonis possible but not always desirable); one! button (also satin); and okay, everything seems to be in order with the pockets; (in fact, there must be something else, but I forgot what).

Thomas’s lapels are sharp and wide enough. these type of lapels was extremely fashionable during 70s. if you look at both music icons in 70s (it’s easier for me to find an example among music industry than among all the celebrities of that time) and fashion magazines. we have or huge or sharp lapels or combo.

and I don’t know what about you, but Thomas gives me the strongest vintage vibe ever. for me, every time he is dressed in something with a reference to the 70s and 80s, it’s just a blessing from heaven.

Ethan’s lapels are also pointed, but they are not as wide as Thomas’s. in width, they are more like classic (rectangular) ones. but according to dress-code rules (as I know) thin, pointed lapels are much more suitable for different events than rectangular ones. in principle, this is one of the variations of a tuxedo but more simplistic than on Vic and Damia. I’d said said it’s the most common version of tux.

So my personal conclusion is that Ethan is dressed simply and stylish. without any stunts or anything like that. as for me, it is quite in his style. elegant man in a elegant suit.

well now Vic and Damia. they both have shawl lapels. in one of classic version of modern tux jacket are the same lapels. in fact, this option is most suitable for black-tie dress code, red carpet, gala dinners, etc. by and large, this is the most smart (elegant) option among all the variations of jackets. it is customary to wear a tuxedo with shawl lapels only! for some important and expensive events.

I regard such a jacket on Damia as the order of things, but on Victoria…for me personally, this is another riot(in a good way) against the existence of a gender framework. i mean suit it’s suit and tux it’s tux and I don’t know, maybe I was searching badly, but I found very few tuxedos (I mean the “gala” one with shawl lapels, single button, etc) for women.

In conclusion, I want to say that yes, it would seem that they are all wearing just black suits. but damn, even here they are chosen perfectly and harmoniously with their personalities. and as I already said, I want to kiss their stylist.

(all of the above is based on a quick research on the Internet, my knowledge and opinion. if I’m wrong somewhere, please don’t throw slippers at me.)

An important addition! Ethan’s lapels are ‘peaked lapels’, a style of lapel seen as particularly stylish in the 1920s and 1930s, the height of the Jazz Age in the US. This is a nod to his jazz origins and the influence of the jazz age on his music style!

Here we have Louis Armstrong, one of the great jazz greats, with the same lapel cut as above ^

And here an image from ‘Gentleman’s Gazette’, showing the style of suits in 1928.

Double kisses for their stylist

and so what do we have?

  • vampire №1, who fell in love with the 70s so much that after a few decades he is still trying to follow the fashion of those years.
  • vampire №2 is trying to keep up with the times, but his 1920s origin still betrays him.
  • the rebel girl who makes her protest very carefully
  • and damiano, who just didn’t come naked.
