Disney: There’s room under the rainbow for everyone!

Also Disney: Except in countries where it might impact our profit margin. Then unless you are cis het you can get stuffed.

Disney: Also we’re removing the kiss scene from “Through The Looking Glass Ruins” in those countries. Luz and Amity are just two very good friends.

Honestly Disney, screw you with your rainbow capitalism. Don’t be pretending to be an ally saying there is room under the rainbow for everyone until you actually mean it! I’ve never been naive enough to believe you are our ally or our friend and I never will be. But seriously, don’t go pretending to be either!

I need to be thinking of Funnies but god. all I can focus on is how happy she looks.

i know… she’s so upbeat in this part, i am not handling it well

socialistexan:

So… that’s maybe not how she planned to do that.

Still though, they’re there now, so they can have their cute slice of life date.

So I’m very late to this episode, but I watch each new episode with my brother and between both of us having classes and jobs it’s tough, but I finally got to watch the new episode of owl house and

I loved the amity and luz scenes! I wish we could’ve gotten the whole episode with them instead of switching between them and Gus but whatever

I like that we can see them going through their feelings and figuring shit out together and possibly starting a relationship within the show and not in the end like so many shows do like yea we got representation but we never actually see them go through anything together. It’s just a series finale kind of thing, like she Ra and Korra (I give Korra a bit more slack, although I felt their relationship came out of nowhere I also get legend of Korra happened way before it was ok to do that kind of stuff and that was all they could get away with)

But my favorite part about their relationship is how it’s portraying kids feeling strong emotions and developing crushes, realistically. Like I hate when the kids just know what they’re doing and understand everything like no they’re kids. They’ve never felt these emotions before

they don’t know how to handle them or what to do

and they’re overwhelmed and confused and scared

Especially in gay relationships, almost all kids have troubles with crushes but when you also have to figure out your identity and realize it’s different then what’s considered “normal” and have to come to terms with that and realize your feelings with this girl are different, it’s really tough, I went through that and I wish I had, had something like the owl house back when I was 13, and I’m so happy that kids are going to have this now

Honestly I’m so proud and happy we’ve come a long way from legend of Korra. I still remember when Steven universe jail break came out, I was in middle school and I was so shocked, I was speechless I had never seen anything like it, two girls in a romantic relationship, being romantic on screen with eachother in a children’s cartoon it was unheard of, at least to me, I was so happy and shocked when I saw it for the first time. It’s been crazy to see such the cultural shift when it comes to this stuff, I see kids having shows like this, having representation, and acting like it’s normal and I’m glad it’s more normal now, because just a few years ago it wasn’t, just a few years ago it was absolute hell to try to get representation on screen, just a few years ago two girls holding hands was enough to sound the alarms

I’m glad kids will have owl house the same way I was able to have Steven universe, because this representation is important and it matters, and seeing, not just a same sex relationship, but two kids going through the complex feelings of having a crush on a someone, with that representation, is extremely important for kids to see to know they’re not alone and they’re not weird or anything for feeling this way and that it’s ok.
