I have a lil headcannon: Schlatt and Quackity both used to smoke, Wilbur started smoking with Quackity back in Pogtopia, Quackity quit after Schlatt and Wilbur died (with encouragement from Karl and Sapnap). Now the smell reminds him of his time with Schlatt. Idk
