As part of his unquenchable thirst for all things 20th century, Tom Paris has accidentally stumbled upon an early 21st century television program called “The Office.”
He now proclaims, “That’s what she said!” after any remark that could be considered even slightly off-color.
For example, “Take us in, Mr. Paris” or “Wow, that’s a lot of leola root.”

The true reason tom was put in solitary was not, in fact, disobeying orders. Janeway was just increasingly fed up with his ‘that’s what she said jokes’ and finally had an excuse to lock him up for it.

Me on my first attempt watching Voyager: I can Tolerate Tom Paris I guess.
Me four minutes in on this attempt: He is a Disaster and I would die for him.
He is such a corny little dork that tries so hard but tries to look like he doesn’t care, and fails miserably at looking like he doesn’t care, so everyone wants to give him hugs and reassurance, but restrains themselves to let him think his facade works. Except Harry. Harry doesn’t give af. Harry wants Tom to let his dork flag fly. And Tom let’s his dork flag fly.
It is funny that Tom Paris is into 1950’s stuff because that’s 300 year in the past for him. It’s like if a guy today was into retro entertainment and its actually 18th century variety shows.
He is the 24th century equivalent of a renaissance fair man.
