Janeway: all hands, this is the captain speaking. I would like to address a rumor that’s making its rounds again. I’ve been hearing whispers about our crew NOT being a perfect family, that we DID abandon some of our own at one point, that some “poor lizards” deserved better.
Janeway: I would like to remind the crew that no incident involving myself and a certain other crewman, who shall remain nameless, ever occurred, let alone resulted in three mutated/highly evolved human-salamander offspring. Nor did we leave such offspring on an alien planet, defenseless, to fend for themselves.
Janeway: …but if we had, it would be entirely Commander Chakotay’s fault
Janeway: But no such event ever occurred. Ever. Nor shall it ever be spoken of again.
Janeway: we are a perfect Starfleet family.
Janeway: anyone who disagrees will be assimilated by Seven of Nine.

Tom:Pepperoni!
Janeway: I will never not be able to cringe at the word, Mr. Paris
Janeway:…
Janeway: Go to the brig
Chakotay:(snickers)
Janeway: (angry conflicted tears) And you DOUBLE go to the brig!!
I can’t help myself
Bridge:
Janeway: (ugly crying, eating a pint of coffee ice cream out of the carton)
Janeway: (waves spoon) Yknow you two could’ve had THREE siblings if Commander Tattoo over there had half a heart
Seven and Icheb: (exchange a disturbed glance but remain silent lest they also be banished to the brig)
Chakotay: (over the ship’s comm) Kathryn, how long do Tom and I have to stay down here?
Janeway: Until ONE of you learns your lesson!
Tuvok: (loving being acting Commander)
B’Elanna: … My husband’s gonna be stuck there till we reach Earth, isn’t he?
Tom: (teary) At least I have company this time
Chakotay: KATHRYN, I AM BEGGING YOU LET ME OUT OF HERE

*wakes up the day after Threshold Day covered in pizza crusts and slime, wondering what the hell just hsppened*
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
Yes! Yes! Yes! This thread is beautiful.
i can’t vibe with anyone who thinks icarus was an ignorant idiot for flying too close to the sun. “oh i’d never do that i would have remembered my father’s warning and been fine”. do you seriously think that after years of imprisonment, feeling the sun on your face and the open air beneath your wings, you would be able to focus on anything but the joy of being alive and free? do you actually think that if you were given the opportunity to go where nobody has never been before, you wouldn’t want to push it to the limit? to dare to be the first to try what no one else has ever even thought possible? do you honestly think you’re too good for your own human nature? look me in the eyes and tell me if i strapped a pair of wings to your back that could take you wherever you wanted to go whenever you pleased that you’d be careful and sensible about it. you are not better than icarus just because you have the benefit of his example.

spacelizardswhopassedthreshold:
Important poll: Where do you guys fall down on the topic of what should have happened to the salamander babies? Are you team they-should-have-kept-them or team thank-fuck-they-left-them-i-do-not-want-a-reminder-of-threshold-on-the-ship ?
Wait is there anyone who actually would have just left them behind?!?
Of course I would have kept them.
Who wouldn’t want a reminder of threshold on the ship?!??? It would be so funny!! And also scientifically interesting. And also you know the right thing to do ethically speaking.
Glad to know that tumblr user @spacelizardswhopassedthreshold stays loyal to their namesake.
Bring them with! You can’t leave your lizard babies on random planets!!
*joins the chorus of “they should have kept the lizard babies”*
Someday, on Star Trek: Picard …
Voyager’s EMH beams onto La Sirena and greets Seven of Nine with enthusiastic hugs and pats on the back.
“I see you two are close friends,” Picard says.
“We surely are,” the Doctor replies. “We’ve been through a quite a bit over the years. Why, we once even had a child together.”
Picard gasps, scandalized, but Seven shakes her head. “Don’t ask,” she says. “The Delta Quadrant.”
Thoughtful, Picard says, “Salamanders?”
“Wrong crewmembers,” the Doctor replies with a broad smile. “But I see those particular logs continue their popularity.”
I’ve watched “Threshold” (Star Trek:Voyager, season 2, episode 15). I have seen many jokes about it here on Tumbler and I still don’t understand them. If somebody who reads it can explane me, please, do it. Thank you in advance. :)
Obviously the New York Times has never heard of a little thing called Threshold…
I know I’m not very active atm but I just had to do something for threshold day
THEY DID ONE FOR VOYAGER!!! AND IT’S THRESHOLD!!!!!!
Voyager in the style of Star Trek: The Animated Series
