Made this post about my Turning Red friends queer headcanons. Miriam is my favorite of the group and I just had to draw em ;v; Avril Lavigne was my icon, so of course I had to do an outfit of hers.
Never really done this before but for this movie I HAD LOTS OF SUDDEN HEADCANONS I APOLOGIZE. Here are my takes on the Turning Red friends and them discovering being queer in later years:
Mei: Can be the token cis ally of the group that loves them all very much and is very protective of everyone and their pronouns. Might mess around with her pronouns and gender to experiment when the others stsrt trying it too as a form of solidsrity but she’s comfortable as she is too. Might be bisexual and not realize it until way later on when she meets butch women.
Miriam: Butch in the making. Bisexual with a thing for strong girls and soft boys. Might be gender neutral and accept he/she/they pronouns, not really caring. possibly may adopt more he/him pronouns and attempt being as masc as possible with the hopes of Mei looking at them differently.
Priya: SAPPHIC SAPPHIC SAPPHIC. Likes boys as a CONCEPT but in reality finds girls and monsters more attractive. Comfortable in her gender fhfhf
Abby: FERAL SHE/THEY IN THE MAKING. Possible future pansexual. Comfortable in herself and never questions whatever she’s attracted to, just rolls with it.
Tyler: Gay boy Gay boy. Scared and insecure about it at first. Might go through a thing like Mei did with the Panda where he hides it from his parents because he’s scared and his friends start outcasting him because he hangs out with the girls more. They help him gain confidence in being okay with himself tho. They talk about boys with him and never judge him, encouraging him when he gets a crush on someone they scoped out to be gay too. I want this boy to be babied by the girls so much, he was a jerk but now hes THEIR jerk I just imagine it so cute. It’s mutual too, he comes to their rescue anytime a boy is being weird to one of em. Imagine him and Miriam squaring up to anyone that tries bothering Priya, Abby or Mei at a party.
