as a Chinese Canadian who drew fan art and went to a lot of anime conventions, the negative reviews really validate my horrible experience growing up, people really do not like the idea of girls like me and I was not imagining it
Some time ago I had a dream where I was feeling really bad, and was just seat in a corner while ugly crying when Freddie Mercury in his yellow shirt and blue jeans came to me and whipped the tears out of my cheeks with a soft smile on his face. Then I asked him:

Anyway, this part of the movie made me very happy because it reminds me of my dreamed Freddie Gaga
Honestly, shout out to “Turning Red” for never even implying Tyler has a crush on Meilin. I think the whole “he makes fun of you because he likes you trope” needs to be beaten dead with a stick.
