In which Blue is lowkey the match-maker, Adam doesn’t back down from a challenge and Ronan is, well, just Ronan. But with a tattoo gun.

“I don’t even know what I want it to look like.” Adam huffed, squinting at Blue who was practically skipping next to him, for God’s sake.

“Do you want me to play you the video again?” She asked, turning around and grinning at him as she walked backwards, hands stuffed in her worn-out jean jacket.

Adam rolled his eyes, mentally writing Never let your friends hold tangible proof of you drunkenly accepting dares on his long list of never-again occurrences, in which the word drunk is more often there than not.

It’s not like Adam’s always out wilding. In fact, on regular weekends, the only trip he makes is to the grocery store and back, when emergencies like running low on his studying biscuits happen. However, this wasn’t a regular  weekend. You see, Adam has been so goddamn stressed, what with it being nearly winter break and all.

It apparently seemed like a good idea for Blue and Gansey to drag Adam away from his flashcards and carefully put-together studying schedule for a night out.

“It’s just like one of your tea breaks.” Blue had argued from the front seat.

“Yeah, except it’s really fucking longer and there’s no fucking tea.” Adam had muttered, no real sting to his words. It really hadn’t sounded that bad to him, drinking this constant nagging worry away. He’d been grateful.

A very drunk Adam vocally admiring an attractive guy with a shitload of tattoos, all while being recorded on Blue’s phone was so not part of the plan. “I bet you’d never have the balls to sit through one of those.” Blue had giggled behind the phone camera.

Adam had argued that it wasn’t his thing, Blue had very-not-nicely suggested that he was a wimp.

So here they are now, after a clear recorded version of Adam swearing on all things that matter, that come morning light he’d get a tattoo before brushing his teeth.

“Hey,” Blue greeted Olivia, the shop’s bell ringing over their heads. Adam nodded and smiled at her.

“Hey, B.” Olivia moved from behind the counter to give her a hug. “Already here again? Didn’t know Gansey loved your tattoos this much.”

“Not me this time,” Blue grinned, Adam grimaced. “Adam here admitted last night how much he’d like to get inked up.”

“Oh! At last one of the observers is actually doing it now. How did you manage to convince Adam, of all people, and not Gansey?” She laughed. God, even Olivia knew how wrong it was to see Adam in a tattoo shop to actually do it, not just hang around and watch Blue do it.

“It’s an interesting story,” Blue shrugged, scrunching her nose at Adam. Jeez, she was just exceptionally smug about this whole thing. “Ronan’s at the back, right?”

Wait,who?

“Yeah, it’s Saturday.” Did Blue intend for this to happen? Surely she didn’t know about this, right?

“Figured.” Blue grinned, in that way, at Adam. Wrong, Adam’s heart did a backflip, you little shit.

“Isn’t he, uh,” Adam spoke for the first time since they walked in. “I mean, this is my first time and he probably only makes professional stuff.”

Olivia stared at him blankly, Blue grinned impossibly wider.

“You know, for professional tattoo, um… enthusiasts.”

A puzzled stare, a stifled giggle.

“Right, uh,” He cleared his throat, “Here goes nothing.” He muttered, glaring at Blue as coldly as he could while being in this flustered state.

Adam dragged his anxious self to the back of the shop as slowly as he could. Out of all the friendly tattoo artists in this lovely establishment, his first time just had to be with the most intimidating one. Who also happens to be Adam’s subject of interest every time he came down with Blue and Gansey to hang, or to watch her get yet another tattoo.

Adam didn’t know if he was this obvious, or if Gansey and Blue really know his face that well, but they noticed anyway. He also didn’t know why they couldn’t just let it go, teasing him about Ronan was their go-to activity, doing it extra loud whenever he was around.

Jesus,Adam thought when he stood before the closed door, I’m a grown-ass man, why the fuck am I acting like a school boy with a crush?

Adam was about to knock, this isn’t a fucking bedroom. He opened the door and walked in.

Adam’s heart did a backflip for the second time that day, and a somersault. “Uh, hey.”

Ronan looked up, “Where’s Sargent?”

Right.

Ronan’s intense stare was making Adam’s stomach do weird stuff. He switched his weight from his left leg to his right, “Just me today.”

“Oh,” Ronan quirked an eyebrow, “Parrish getting inked up? What kind of alternative universe shit is that?”

“It’s Blue,” Adam shook his head, smiling crookedly. “Long story, never mind.”

Ronan stood up, rearranging his tools at the station, back muscles flexing under his shirt. “It’s gotta be a fucking good one to get you here, Parrish, enlighten me.”

“Well, uh, it involves drinks, a heavy inked guy and a video on Blue’s phone.” Adam explained, sitting at the bench. Was he going to need to lay down? He didn’t even know where the hell he wanted this tattoo to be.

Ronan turned around, crossing his arms and smirking, silently prodding him to go on. Adam didn’t know if it was the way Ronan’s back tattoo was visible at his neck, or if it was the way he was looking at him, like he was amused.Intrigued, that got him saying,

“You get the rest of the story, plus the video, after I see if your work’s worth it.”

Holy shit, did Adam just flirt with Ronan?

Ronan’s smirk turned into a grin, Adam leaned back on his hands. “Whatever you say, Parrish. Where and what?”

“I, uh, don’t really know.”

“You don’t know where, or you don’t know what?”

“Um, both?”

Ronan bit his lip, “For fuck’s sake, Parrish. Your first time’s supposed to be hard on you, not on me.” He picked a small catalogue with the shop’s logo on it, handing it over “Not my stuff, so not that cool.”

Adam didn’t even bother looking. “I want your stuff.” He blurted out.

“Easy there, Parrish,” Ronan chuckled, he turned around, picking up his tattoo gun. “Okay, I think I’ll make you-”

“No, don’t tell me,” Adam gushed, where the hell was all this coming from? “Surprise me, Lynch.”

Ronan grinned, his fangs were a bit long, making him look ready to devour the shit out of anything he looked at. Right now, anything was Adam, and he grinned back, if a bit hesitant.

“Where?” Ronan’s voice was three octaves lower.

“Um, I work a couple of jobs, so I don’t think anywhere visible?” Adam looked away. He probably is going to need to lay down after all.

“Chest? Back?” Ronan asked, and in the same low voice, “Thighs?” Jesus fuck.

The thought of having to lay down on his front and not know what the hell was going on on the other side didn’t settle well with Adam. Thighs were a definite no. “Chest, I guess.”

Ronan sat on a stool by the bench. “The fuck you waiting for, Parrish? Take off your shirt.”

Jesusfuck.

Adam swallowed, taking off his shirt and welling his heart and his whole goddamn body to calm the fuck down. He’s going to kill Blue. Probably. Maybe.

Adam laid down on his back as he listened to Ronan’s explanation of how all of it was going to be. Adam only got the bit about it being small and only taking up to an hour before he zoned out, focusing more on Ronan’s voice than on what he’s actually saying.

Looking at Ronan from this angle. he could see how long his eyelashes were and the way his nose sharpens at the end. He could see Ronan’s adam apple popping as he talked and how his lips moved. God, his lips were something else all together. Adam couldn’t help but think how it would feel to have those pouty lips on his own.

“You good?” Ronan’s voice anchored him back to reality, which wasn’t all unpleasant, what with him being shirtless under Ronan Lynch’s mercy. Or his tattoo gun’s mercy. Whatever.

“Yeah.” Adam’s voice came out raspy, strained. “I’m good.”

Ronan’s gloved hand touched Adam’s chest, making him suck a quick breath in. “Here?” Ronan’s hand moved from the middle of his chest to a spot just beneath his left shoulder, “I think here’s better.”

Adam nodded a little too quick, breathed out a bit too heavily. He was too flustered and engrossed by Ronan’s presence that he almost forgot why he was here in the first place. Ronan was staring at his face expectantly, like he sensed Adam’s uneasiness.

“Ronan?”

“Adam?”

“Does it hurt too bad?” Adam almost whispered, as if they’re talking about something sacred.

Ronan seemed to think Adam’s skin was sacred too, because he answered in the same tone, “Don’t worry, I’ll only put the tip in.”

Adam let out a loud sound, ranging between a quack and a laugh, he slapped his hand against mouth. Ronan chuckled. “So much for comforting your terrified customer.”

“I don’t lie, Parrish.” Ronan’s fang teeth were back, “I’ll hold your hand if you want.”

Adam scoffed, adjusting himself against the bench. “Right.”

“No but seriously, you can ask me to stop if it gets too much.” Adam didn’t want to think of how this conversation could fit into another scenario. He didn’t feel like he would ask Ronan to stop in it, though.

Ronan seemed to get it too, because his sincere gaze had gone and he just rolled his eyes. “You’re a kid, Parrish.”

And then Ronan was leaning down, tattoo gun in gloved hand, positioning himself near Adam’s shoulder and giving him one last look.

God, he was so close, he was all Adam could smell.

The buzzing started, Adam bit back a hiss and closed his eyes. It hurt, not in a breathless-am-I-going-to-die way, just annoyingly so. Constant stinging and needle-dragging made him feel a bit dizzy after a few minutes, but it was relatively okay

Adam focused on the way Ronan’s warm breath hit his skin, the way his free hand was gripping him, keeping him in place. He opened his eyes, and noticed that Ronan looked at him every few moments, intensely so.

When did the room get so freaking hot?

Adam wasn’t sure you were supposed to be this dizzy and floaty while getting a tattoo, he wasn’t sure how the annoying stinging turned into constant stinging turned into almost… pleasant stinging. He was aware of his body burning up, bit by bit, he was aware of how Ronan kept glancing at him from under his eyelashes. His free hand tightening its grip on Adam.

He was aware of how his dick was swelling up.

Fuck. Was the pain turning him on?

Adam squirmed. Ronan gripped him tighter.

Abruptly, the buzzing stopped. Adam glanced at Ronan, feeling hot all over. “Uh, outline’s done.” Ronan murmured, eyes on Adam, almost in a trance.

“I don’t wanna see it yet.” Adam was a bit desperate for Ronan to be impossibly close again, a bit desperate for the goddamn needle on his skin again. He didn’t want to stop right now.

Wordlessly, Ronan picked up the gun again and got back to work on Adam’s reddening skin. Adam was growing fervent, squirming more, hissing more.

He could feel every sting, the pain anchoring him to here and now, the pleasure making him float far away. Ronan’s breath was uneven, Adam could feel its warmth on his already burning skin. It was too much, it was all too much and Adam didn’t know how to handle all of it appropriately.

Adam involuntary let out a broken whimper. He was pretty sure that was not appropriate.

“Do you want to stop?” Ronan’s voice like that was fucking turtore. Adam didn’t know what to say, he didn’t know what he wanted. His jeans were straining painfully against his dick. He whimpered again.

“Adam.” The buzzing stopped, Ronan pulled Adam up, helping him into a sitting position that somehow ended in Ronan almost standing between Adam’s thighs. “You okay?”

Fuck, no.

“Yeah,” Adam sounded wrecked. “Yeah.” He tried again, not really sounding better. This was so fucking embarrassing. “Uh, sorry.”

“It’s all good, take a break.” Ronan sat down at the stool again. There was absolutely no way he couldn’t see Adam’s hard-on.

Ronan looked, and looked, then glanced away. Then his eyes were on Adam’s. and he was standing up, and Adam stopped breathing. Ronan stepped towards Adam, snuggly fitting between his legs, one of his hands gripping Adam’s thigh.

Adam wasn’t breathing. Ronan was so close, he could count his lashes. Ronan’s eyes were on his, asking a question, and Adam didn’t blink. Then, Ronan turned around, and before Adam could taste air again, he turned back with bandages in his hand.

He carefully bandaged Adam’s raw skin. He looked at him, and then ever so slightly pressed his fingers against it.

“Fuck.” Adam full on moaned.Ronan looked at him like he was something else all together, and pressed again, harder. Adam’s entire body shuddered, eyes never leaving Ronan’s. What the fuck were they doing?

“Fucking hell,” Ronan whispered, eyes blown, lips apart. “Adam.” He was so close, so close. Adam wanted to kiss him. “Adam, we can’t do this here.”

“Where?” Adam leaned in, not missing a beat. Ronan let out a breath, Adam could feel it on his lips.

“Give me your number, I finish at six, I’ll call, yeah?” Ronan said, breathless and low.

Tonight, Ronan.” Adam gripped the back of Ronan’s nick, emphasizing his words. Ronan let out a low groan, their noses bumped.

“Can’t fucking wait longer, can I?”

Pairing: Gen - Declan and Adam friendship with established Pynch

Rating: Teen

Summary:

Declan Lynch’s phone shouldn’t have been vibrating against his thigh. He had laid out painstaking measures to work out very specific do not disturb settings during internship hours so that he’d only be bothered in true emergency scenarios.

The most frightening by far being Church Valley Medical - Henrietta, Virginia.

Declan and Adam meet by happenstance under grim circumstances. But perhaps it isn’t all bad.

“It’s not like I stopped him, or whatever.” And Ronan felt as if he coughed up something black and rancid that had been jammed in his throat since he took that beer from Kavinsky. “Look, if you suck at driving you’ll spin out and fucking crash. I’m not gonna blame the fucking car for that.”

If Noah had a still beating heart, Ronan was sure it would’ve stopped. All that was left of him was a stardust shape of a boy before he shook his head to bring back all the color he could muster.

“Holy shit, Ronan, no. It’s like, not even a good comparison. Like, at all.”

“Fuck,” he hissed, and he could feel his vision blurring again. “Fuck.” He screwed his eyes shut and clenched his teeth again before he could bear to look at this crumpled, young looking Gansey that made him remember far too much.

Gansey reached his hand up to Ronan’s face, smudging wetness away.

“Shh, Ronan,” Gasney hummed. “It’s going to be okay. I’ve got you, we’ve got you.”

Nightcall - Chapter 2

Pairing:Ronan/Adam

Rating:Mature

Summary: “Is…he okay, Adam?” Gansey asked, voice hoarse with boyish uncertainty that only existed behind locked doors and rolled up windows.

Adam winced, which in turn made himself mimic the face out of empathy. Gansey knew Adam understood what he meant by ‘okay’. Ronan often said he was ‘fine’ . But a Ronan fine meant he was upright, his car ran, and he had all his organs still inside his body. He had a baseline insurance policy on himself that didn’t cover cracks or dents or mental trauma.

“I dunno, Gansey.” Adam slumped in his seat, matching Gansey shot for shot in vulnerability.

“Kavinsky did it.”

“I know,” Gansey said.

Nothing Like a Love Song - Chapter 11

In the end, he just couldn’t stop himself. He was an addict, and Adam was the willing drug. The only thing he wanted was for Adam to be his—all and always and only his.

And now Ronan couldn’t even look up at him. It felt like an eclipse. After a moment, Adam forced the issue—he grabbed Ronan’s tie and pulled at it until Ronan was on his feet. He wound the fabric around his fist and lay his other hand flat on Ronan’s chest. He rose up on his bare toes, not quite close enough to bridge the gap in their heights, but close enough to dare Ronan to.

“Tell me you don’t want me, and I’ll leave it alone,” he said.

Summary: The aftermath of Adam’s sacrifice in trb

“I sacrifice myself.”

Adam’s words kept echoing in Ronan’s ears. Even when Gansey and Adam started arguing, Ronan couldn’t completely comprehend what they were saying, his eyes flickering around the forest in fear of something happening again.

The horror of everything was still so fresh; Whelk raising the gun at Adam, the herd of creatures running across, and then the vision in the nightmare tree: Whelk standing with the gun while Adam laid lifelessly on the forest floor, and then it was Gansey, and then it was Noah-

Gansey and Adam’s stopped arguing when Blue said they should leave. She was right. They had no idea how long cabeswater would stay relatively calm.

What the fuck had Adam done, sacrificing himself? They had no idea what could happen to him.

Gansey glanced at Adam again, his face pained, before he nodded and left with Blue. Ronan also turned to walk, but then he realised Adam wasn’t following. He opened his mouth to snap at him but before he could, he noticed that Adam had taken a step forward and was now staring at the edge of the pentagram with barely concealed fear.

Fuck.
