Day 6

We got the arch finished

Jessi, Jeremy and Porter ended up having plans. So I finished building a handful of walls.

Hopefully next time I come out Jeremy will have the walls secured and all the bracing pulled. So we can start in on making the rooms or windows.

Porter was out.

So we put him to work building walls, cutting blocks, and helping with the arch.

He was just excited to be in/use the lift.

Day 4

Worked on sections of the wall going up the arch of the building.

Day 5

More sections. We actually have the next, which is the second to last bit of ceiling done but decided to wait until he has his lift to finish.

Day Three

We didn’t get much framing done. Mostly just a bunch of layout and making sure everything was square. Which fortunately it was. Got the insulation cleaned out around where the windows will go and the five foot wall built.

Day One

We got the south wall torn down, the concrete smoothed out and a good portion of the new wall built.

Day Two

Framed and sheeted the new wall. Now we can get started on the interior of the house.

The Plan

If you might recall, a few months ago I helped my friend build a new north wall for his quonset hut for a garage door.

The whole idea behind this was to turn the quonset into a house and garage. He was looking to have it done but the estimates he was getting were the cost of a new house.

So now he’s doing it himself. Well, a lot of it himself. Subing out what he has too or can. I’ll be helping with the rough framing, finish carpentry, might have to hang some sheet rock, depending on their budget I might have to install a glass wall for their shower.

Whatever is needed.
