First baseball game of the season.
Two solid innings of work pitching. Only one strike out but weak contact that allowed his teammates to get outs for him. Didn’t allow any runs.
Hitting wise, he got on base twice. Scored once and drove two runs in but got out his third at bat.
Day 6
We got the arch finished
Jessi, Jeremy and Porter ended up having plans. So I finished building a handful of walls.
Hopefully next time I come out Jeremy will have the walls secured and all the bracing pulled. So we can start in on making the rooms or windows.
Porter was out.
So we put him to work building walls, cutting blocks, and helping with the arch.
He was just excited to be in/use the lift.
Last band concert of the year.
Porter’s mom works for the Food Bank. She was made project lead for the new building they had built.
Porter and I got a little private tour. It’s very impressive with lots of room for growth.
We put together a little surprise party for mom for her 70th.
And not a let’s all hide and jump out and get her surprise. More like we, myself and Porter, little brother and his family, older brother and his wife, a couple of her sisters, and a brother-in-law just showed up at roughly the same time and wished her a happy birthday and gave hugs.
After working 13 days straight I needed a break but my yard needed mowing.
Cue the 13 year old.
Porter had told me his skool choir was gonna do I Want You Back but he had failed to mention that there was a dance routine that went along with it.
Cubs opening day.
Dodgers home opening day.
After we went over to a ball dimond and got some tee work in and ran some infield and outfield drills.
Surprised Porter with a little hangout with the twins.
Biking.
Dog walking.
Movie.
First batting practice of the year.
He enjoyed it.
I thought it was fantastic.
Porter has really been getting into taking his bike to the BMX track.
Porter’s skool put on Shrek the Musical Jr. (Jr. because it isn’t 2.5 hours so Porter informed me).
He played the bishop, a guard, and woodland creature. It was fun to watch and he had a blast being in it and making it.
