Lunar Eclipse in Three Stages - And finally here’s my last Lunar eclipse photo. This time from the points where the edge of the shadow of the Earth is at the middle of the moon upon entering and exiting eclipse, and one photo at the eclipse maximum against the stars at that time. These photos are each HRD images created from selected images in an auto exposure bracket sequence.Camera: Canon 5D3 Telescope: 8“ f4 Newtonian Mount: NEQ6
Exposure: 251 frames ranging from 1/125sec to 30sec, f4 ISO100 Processed in Lightroom
This took me way too long to edit as I had no end of trouble trying to get the huge changes in exposure to blend smoothly through the video. The moon was more than 8000 times brighter at the start of this sequence than it was in the middle of the eclipse!
So while I’m not 100% satisfied with the outcome, I still think it’s a pretty cool little animation :) I hope you agree and enjoy it!
