It speaks to tumblr’s enigmatic nature that when I saw a motion blurred car battery on my dash with the caption “C A R B A T T E R Y” all I thought was “it sure fucken is”

Mello and Matt love Victorious hc

‼️Death Note Spoilers (even tho it’s been over for years, if you don’t wanna be spoiled don’t continue)‼️

Okay so (manga) Mello died the same year that Victorious came out, except he died before it aired (Manga!Mello died January 26th 2010 and Victorious aired March 27th 2010). I don’t care if he was a 19-20 year old genius mafia member, this man would have 100% latched into Jade West if he ever watched that show.

Like can you imagine, had Mello and Matt survived, they’re relaxing one day three months after the Kira case finishes and Matt is flipping through channels on the tv and lands on Victorious? Mello would probably think it looks stupid but they have nothing better to do, so Matt turns it on and they just cuddle on the couch to watch the pilot. Mello would probably still think it was stupid until later in the episode when Jade is introduced.

I’m telling you Mello would think Jade was so cool! Him and Matt would probably get into like stupid arguments whenever Jade overreacts over something in the show (take the pilot for example when Jade pours coffee on Tori after she catches Tori rubbing Becks chest). Mello would totally be like “No she deserved that! You don’t just start rubbing some chicks boyfriend!” And Matt would just roll his eyes and say it was a misunderstanding and that pouring coffee on someone is definitely unnecessary.

Mello would probably adore Jades outfits as well. Like he would love the black outfits paired with the flannels or feathers. He would also probably start caring around scissors in his pocket along with his gun which kinda concerns Matt at first. But Matt’s just happy Mello is enjoying something childish for once so he doesn’t say anything. He does have to make sure Mello doesn’t stab anyone with his scissors though.

I bet Mello starts subconsciously picking up little habits and things from Jade. His wardrobe probably starts to include clothing other then leather, and there’s a bit more colour in his outfits (usually red or maybe dark teal as like accents). He picked up Jades habit of just screaming no at things she doesn’t like. Literally no one, not even Mello himself, realized he had picked up the quirk until him and Matt had met up with Near one day like a year after the Kira case. I think Near was probably just absentmindedly playing with his toys and Mello got fed up with the noise it was making so he just…yelled “NO” really loudly. The three of them probably all just froze for a minute because they didn’t know where that just came from, but they eventually just let it go. Matt totally teased Mello about it when they got home though.

Every now and again you can hear Mello humming whatever song from the show is stuck on repeat in his head that day. I think his favourites are Take a Hint,Give it up, and You don’t know me (any song Jade sings essentially). Like if he’s cleaning/cooking/working from home you can probably hear him humming to himself. Mello definitely does it absentmindedly and doesn’t realize he’s humming unless someone mentions it. Matt adores it to much to say anything so he never mentions it.

I think this weird American teen sitcom was probably one of the few constants in their lives. Like every two weeks or so when a new episode came out, they recorded it so that when they got home they could watch it to unwind. Like no one was going to stop these two dorks from watching this show on time, even if it means “speeding” up a job so they could get home. I think it probably also became like a comfort show for Mello. Like if he ever got upset or something from their past started to bubble up, Matt would just turn on an episode of Victorious and they would cuddle on the couch until Mello felt better.

Wow…sorry…this went from “Mello would have loved Jade!” To this kinda sad yet wholesome headcanon about if Mello and Matt survived and latched onto a weird American sitcom…oops

Anyway the main take away is that Mello loved Jade West, and they both would have watched it religiously had they survived.

You haven’t watched Afterlife Of The Party yet?Well, there should be no excuse because it is now available to stream on Netflix.

This is one of my favorite looks of Vic (i might be biased ) because the gown is by the Dubai-based Filipino designer, Michael Cinco. I always love his designs and the intricate details of his work.

It’s been 11 years since the pilot episode of Victorious was aired. We got to meet Tori Vega and her road to being vicTORIous… ✨ @victoriajustice
