Look, Guerrilla Games doesn’t seem inclined to give us the option to romance characters in the games… so I want to offer them a compromise. If they wanted to make a bunch more money on the relatively cheap off of the Horizon franchise, while also making a lot of fans really happy… they should make a non-canon spin-off that’s just a dating simulator.
Obviously you play as Aloy, and the romantic options are everyone you’d expect.

Gaia and Beta would, of course, not be datable, they’re your confidants. Running gag is that neither have much social experience so they both keep giving Aloy bad advice.
I’m split on a setting. On one hand, I guessit makes more sense to be in a non-canon version of the Horizonworld. Plus, it’s really funny to imagine the hyper-detailed world of Horizon turned into the simplistic style of a dating simulator, as well as all the hand-waving that would be required to make everyone in generally the same area to be datable…
But it’s even funnier to imagine this game as a High School or College AU. Erend and Petra are engineering or shop students, Alva’s a geek, Talanah’s a jock, Avad’s the student council president or the president of the student’s union, etc….
LOVE THAT IDEA SO MUCH, WISH I COULD PLAY IT RIGHT NOW - so here’s the messiest sketch ever
Tilda van der Meer really looked at the feral, frothing-at-the-mouth woodland child clone of her long long l o n g lost ex girlfriend and without a hint of hesitation or doubt thought “yeah she’ll do just fine in the cold isolation of space”

I’m a simple minded person, I see Aloy compared to a raccoon, I-
