Cat is the wonderful protagonist on ‘Beauty and the Beast’; she’s smart, driven, confident and has more walls up around her heart than a French castle. Over the course of the season she’s been slowly letting Vincent into her heart, learning to love and trust others (and herself) in a new way.

And this week Vincent broke that trust. He’s reconnected with his fiance from a decade ago - the woman he was going to spend his life with before he became a mutant science experiment of the US government. Its a good storyline and a necessary experience for Vincent to go through. And I like Alex. But while he was off, experiencing "real life" like he used to, he and Alex were pretty much arrested for trespassing. Unable to give his name to the police officer, Vincent called Cat to help get him out of this situation.

And Cat showed up. Because that’s who she is. She’s the type of person who keeps her promises and will always be there for her friends; always there to do her job. But she was royally pissed off with Vincent - and rightfully so. Cat has given up a lot for him; keeping his secret has required her to lie, cheat, steal and break the very laws she’s sworn to uphold. But she’s done so willingly - Cat jumped in this rabbit hole aware of what she was getting into. She’s made peace with herself for her actions and choices…..until now.

With Vincent’s pretty much complete disregard for her, her feelings and the risks she’s taken for him, Cat let him have it. She tells him right to his face that its not okay; that everything she’s risked - and everything JT has risked - makes his actions completely selfish and wrong. She tells him to pretty much get over himself and get his shit together.

And that is why Catherine Chandler is my Badass Character of the Week. For unwavering confidence and standing up for herself. She didn’t fall victim to the blame-the-other-woman trope and she didn’t let Vincent take advantage of her and treat her with disregard. She set boundaries. She said it was not okay how he treated her. Cat wants to be with Vincent, but she’s not willing to be with him at the sacrifice of who she is. She decides that even if he doesn’t want to be with her, he better not ruin her life by exposing her. And thats pretty damn badass.

Vincent Winchester | AU
After losing his mother in a car crash, Vincent following in his estranged father’s footsteps joins the marine corps.
He becames a test subject in a failed military experiment. They injected him with a serum that spliced his DNA with that of multiple species, resulting in Vincent developing enhanced strength, speed, reflexes and sharper senses.
However the serum was unstable, resulting in considerable side effects; whenever he experienced a rush of adrenaline he would become extremely aggresive and animalistic.
John Winchester gets in contact with his two sons, Sam and Dean Winchester. He needs help tracking a beast.
Together, they find Vincent but it’s too late and he has already transformed. They try to capture him but the beast fights back and gets away.
’Since when do we care about capturing but not killing these things? Look at Sammy’s face! We almost got killed tonight. This thing is vicious’. said a furious Dean.
‘Since we’re talking about your half-brother.. Vincent’. confessed John.
'Our.. What?’ asked a shocked Sam.
