Vulcanite Necklace and How To Wear it!

1) Victorian love bird carrying two hearts to a beloved.

2) Georgian sepia on ivory pendant of two lovebirds tying a lover’s knot. This was most likely a betrothal or wedding pendant as it signifies “tying the knot.”

Gold, peridot, enamel, diamonds and pearls. New York circa 1900. It looks like a similar pendant from Marcus and Co but this is unmarked.

In 2006, an Agatha Christie fan took part at an auction of the author’s property. The fan purchased a trunk for 100 pounds. In the trunk was a sealed strongbox, still locked. 4 years passed until the new owner of… the box could open it (with a crowbar from a contractor doing renovations on the fan’s house), Upon opening the box, she discovered a diamond buckle brooch, gold coins and a three stone diamond ring! This is the buckle brooch that was re-sold at a Bonhams auction.
