Roses are white Emeralds are green And this ring is one to be seen
This splendid Art Deco ring radiates straight to your heart; from a old European cut diamond centre over an octagonal shaped framed set with emeralds and diamonds. As 20 emeralds emphasize the dazzling diamond, this ring symbolizes the uncharted possibilities for the first unwritten blank pages of a new unspoiled path in love. The outer set of diamonds surrounding the stunning centre bedecks even the ring’s shank so it can sweep softly around your finger.
1) Victorian love bird carrying two hearts to a beloved.
2) Georgian sepia on ivory pendant of two lovebirds tying a lover’s knot. This was most likely a betrothal or wedding pendant as it signifies “tying the knot.”
How do you know if this is Jet, Bog Oak, Vulcanite or Gutta Percha and what ARE all those things anyway? This no nonsense blog tells all, including a SHOCKING way to identify jet!

All parts are entirely hand fabricated, forged on the anvil from 950 silver. Engravings are done using a sharpened nail. No casting No electric tools. Features a 12mm x 11mm Lepidotes fossilized tooth.
Lepidotes is an extinct fish from the Jurassic period (200 million years ago) known as a Toadstone during the medieval times. For nearly 500 years (13th-18th century), Toadstones were considered a real “stone’. It was believed that toads produced precious stones inside their head that had great powers against malignant tumours; that they were an antidote for poisons and that they protected against enchantments of witches. During the plague they were laid to the heart to strengthen it. According to physicians of the same period, the stone could be cut out of the toad’s head. Another way of extracting the stone was to place a toad on a piece of red cloth which would make it spit out it’s stone. It would then have to be taken rapidly if not the toad would swallow it back again before one can seize the precious gem. In reality Toadstones were actually fossilized teeth of an extinct genus of ray-finned fish from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
I called this one «Your death ring» because of the tiny skeleton laying in it’s coffin. In the last picture you can see him better. He is you!

These 19th century Venetian beads made of hand paddled and inlaid cobalt glass with a laurel wreath pattern are positively darling! Each strand is around 26”, so long enough to swing over your head and go for a fabulous warm weather look and, of course, you *could* take the strand apart and mix them with other beads, or use them individually. #laurelwreath #venetianbeads #19thcenturybeads #19thcenturyjewelry #antiquebeads #antiquejewelry #rarebeads #uniquebeads #mali #africanbeads #africanjewelry #flowerbeads #flowerjewelry #handmadebeads #handpaddledglass #handmadeglass #handmadeglassbeads #fashion #style #styleinspo #springfashion #springstyle #shop #nyc #unionsquare #beadsofparadise (at Beads of Paradise NYC) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdlvgZmOxws/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
