On my journey from Larnaca Airport into North Cyprus, my driver, Irkan, explained that since the North Cypriots were given access to the European Union, the culture had changed - young people were more exposed to international influences, and he could see this in their fashion, their choice of music, and their
hairstyles. In Kyrenia, Ömer definitely ticked the haircut box.

September 2016 - North Cyprus. Back in the late summer of 2016, I headed over to the divided island of Cyprus on assignment for @flynorwegian. With talks of reunification in the air, I travelled the length of the disputed territory of North Cyprus, exploring its history, landscapes and culture. The feature is out now in Norwegian ‘N’ Magazine, on all February flights. I’ll be posting a few outtakes from the shoot this week.
