On this #WardrobeWednesday, the warm weather has us aching for spring blooms, like the ones featured on this 1998 Todd Oldham evening gown. The flowers on this dress were crafted using glass beads, sequins, rick-rack chenille yarns, and mini bugle beads.

Todd Oldham’s piece was inspired by an Impressionist painting of a vase, an idea you can see emulated in pieces like this dress from ModCloth.

“Florals… for spring? Groundbreaking.” We know it’s expected, but we can’t help but love our wonderful collection of flowery prints! The top wool textile, which can be seen on Philadelphia University’s Tapestry textile database, was manufactured in 1906. This lovely number is paired with a modern, cotton lawn textile from The Village Haberdashery. The two are similar, but over a century apart. This proves a singular point, there is always a demand for florals no matter what Prada clad devils have to say!

Happy Wardrobe Wednesday! Today we are looking at one of the most dramatic accessories a fashionista can wear. This 1920s piece, paired with a 1950s piece (from our collection) are both amazing examples of feathered turbans from the past. Now modern versions are popping up on Etsy and other creative sites, we love this trend and we hope you do too!
