Enemies to lovers gets a lot of attention (and rightfully so), but I’d also like us to give a little spotlight to the lovers to enemies trope

Literally any time people who loved each other end up on opposing sides I froth at the mouth; romantic partners, best friends, SIBLINGS, are you kidding me?? That tug in your chest towards them every time you see them only to have your stomach drop when you remember? The complicated navigation of wanting to stop them AND wanting to let them go? The overwhelming feelings of HURT and BETRAYAL on all sides? When a character with a secret identity knows their loved one works for the other side so they can’t trust them even if they desperately want to??

I have been LIVING for this brand of drama since I was 6 years old and I will never stop sipping that juice
