Mother Nature, is this some kind of joke? I don’t recall anyone asking you to send Old Man Winter back onstage for an encore performance. Oh, well…let’s put another log on the fire, break out the eggnog, and adapt to the notion of six-month winters. (April 16, 2021 in eastern Connecticut.)

Winter Wonderland
Once or twice a year, I look out of my window..
And there I see a huge thick blanket of snow.
As always, it’s such a marvellous sight;
All cold, chilly, crispy and white..
The perfect opportunity to go sledging,
Perfect for snowman building,
Never had a chance for years until now..
Never mind each and every snowplough..
At the top of a snowy steep hill I stand,
Everywhere sure is a winter wonderland..
