The most common way people give up their power is by believing they don’t have any. We as a town have chosen to give up our power. Not because we don’t believe, but because of our own passivity.  Perhaps in time we will learn that inactivity is far more dangerous than mega corporations or any rebellion against them. 

Believe in your own power to to make a difference. Believe that one plus one plus one plus one can eventually lead to full scale rebellion. But all of this will collapse if the calvary is content to wait for a hero, instead of becoming one.

So apparently when Carlos travels to Night Vale it causes a huge time shift, so he arrives ten years early. When the university comes looking for him they say it’s been decades, plural. If they’re being literal of course. So ten years into the past plus several decades into the future (at least one decade in the Desert, of that bit confirmed the novel, not sure)

Let’s say Carlos is aware of the time shift. Because he always seems to know these things, he just doesn’t tell anyone.

Does it mean he never speaks of or tries to visit his family outside Night Vale because he thinks they’re all long gone or wouldn’t want to see him after he abandoned them for decades?

Does he cry on the anniversary of his arrival because he got reminded that all of his previous life moved on without him?

Does he cry because he knows that today is the exact day he actually travelled and got caught in the time shift?

Petition to ban Carlos from being silent about universe scale catastrophies that seem to keep plaguing him. The Phantom Ocean, getting stranded in the Desert Otherworld, now this time shift. I bet he’s aware of the time shift, he’s just not telling anyone, you know as always

Also is this the reason he continuously drops out of the timeline and Cecil forgets him completely whenever something happens to Night Vale?? Because he’s not quite aligned with the timeline from the very start?

WTNV 210 reminded me of a quote from a q&a I haven’t been able to stop thinking about. It was basically Dylan (voice of carlos) saying “I don’t think Carlos has ever told a lie in his life”, and Kevin (voice of kevin) interjecting with “Can I say? I think Carlos lies in his actions”.

This quote has been the glue that holds all of my carlos thoughts together for the past couple years. God. Yeah he sure does huh.
