Reflections Of Life - In A Hearse.
This restored 1950′s hearse (Still used by Co-op Funerals) was so highly polished that at a certain angle towards the light it reflected people passing by like they were in a fairground mirror.

St Peter’s Church.
Just part of the fabulous Victorian stained glass panels that make up the 3 large windows in St. Peter’s Church in the centre of Chester - now a Christian Ecumenical Centre, there has been a church on this site since 907AD when Ethelfleda, daughter of King Alfred the Great founded the church.
The whole ground floor of the church is now laid out as a cafe - A cup of coffee & a scone with jam & cream at a reasonable price, sitting in a 1000 year old site (although, most of what you see dates only from the 14th & 19th centuries!) what on earth could be better?

Built Mid 19th century by Colonel George Ridehalgh to house his steam-yachts: Britannia & the Fairy Queen. Col. Ridehalgh was a founder member of the Royal Windermere Yacht Club. This site (extending to 18 acres) now belongs to the National Trust.

Last night, I was very lucky to be close to a patch of this lake where the final rays of the sun fall before dropping over the horizon. I had the foresight to have taken some bread and I was able to coax this Mute Swan into the pool of light - with the bonus that he splashed his plumage with water drops that also caught the light.

Overlooking A Mere In Delamere Forest.
‘Meres’ are ponds, or lakes, created at the end of the last Ice-Age by huge ice blocks (once part of the ice sheet) finally melting - but leaving a depression in the soft earth. Cheshire’s water table is particularly high and so it fills these depressions - producing ponds that attract a huge variety of animal & plant life.

On Golden Pond.
The sunset has moved from the lake - but it still bathes an old dead tree with light - which reflects back from the surface of the water, the ripples created by a number of ducks adds to the coloured effects.

Monumental Fireplace.
It takes up nearly all of this little alcove (off the main hall) and must weigh tons!. Looking as though it has been here for centuries - with it’s Delft ties & carved stone pillar capitals - in fact this whole house was only built during 1898-1900 by H.M. Baillie-Scott - one of the foremost Arts & Crafts Architects of the era.
