Catching little bits of happiness breaks in-between my rushing around and work.

Finally got to see this rainbow hearts archway outside Chinatown Point! Perfect with my rainbow hat on!

Of course, when in Chinatown usually means I’ll drop by @tinyrabbithole I checked out their new “FIND ME!” posters on their entry pillar and wall. Love it and it certainly works!

Sat down, bought some new yarn and worked with my Star Student on making Bak Zhang plushies! Glutinous rice dumplings. Gotta love the squishy rainbow ones made by Angie n Terrix Terrix made the little one in five-stones size so Audrey was quick to play

Dragon Boat/Dumpling festival is just next week, right on our booth date so I reaallllyyy wanted to include these! I’ll need to find my raffia strings

I caught @lazyunichan eyeing them Oi! If i find any missing I’m gonna squeeze yooouuu!

[Custom Order] Japanese Pattern Vege Bag!

After nearly 5 months, it is done!
This pattern uses the crochet waistcoat stitch, or the knit(look) stitch which I struggled with the first time I tried, 3 years ago. This needs a lot of tension control!

I used all 12ply yarns, with a hamanaka bag base, and a 4.5mm hook.
Pattern from an applemints book (see last picture).

As you’d notice, I’m missing the chilli rows. My bag would’ve been too tall! So we stopped after the lotus root. Difference of yarn type. I also added the button flap closure and did a lil extra in the base round to reinforce.

A bit of math was needed as my base didn’t have the exact number of holes for the pattern. Frogged a few times but once I got the sizing right with the repeat pattern, it was all go - at a really slow pace and really long breaks in-between.

Grateful to the (free!) stitchfiddle program where I could chart the diagram in colour and track my rows.

[Custom Order] Japanese Pattern Vege Bag!

After nearly 5 months, it is done!

Thankful for this order which has allowed me to make the Bi Bee in the same yarns as the rest and do a new photo take.

When I made my first Bi Bee, I didn’t have the colours in the usual yarn so I made with a different yarn (see the 3rd pic).

And now I get to do a new collage of Pride Bees!

I STILL don’t have all the colours I need but we’ll get there once I remember what I need when I’m at the yarn store

My busy yarning bees

I spent about 11hours in Coffeebean today I’m glad they didn’t chase me away, only when it was closing time

But HEY we all ordered food and drinks, okay! ☕ Even bought their tumbler

Thank you Bhavvy for reaching out to me to learn! Look at that happiness of completing her first amigurumi ball! I look forward to seeing you impress your mum that you too can crochet! ✨

Aunty Clair sought my help to save some of her bags. She also completed the little pastel purple pouch! Wonderful stitch uniformity

Audrey was my hardworking rose factory today I can’t make the leaves fast enough HAHAHA it started as a pile of lace rings, in the end we sewed them all up, and there you get my insta-story of the line of roses.
I am thankful for her to be my extra pair of hands to crochet and still enjoy it as she makes.
