30 Day Anime Challenge
Day 16 - Favorite Attack
It’s actually quite difficult to pinpoint a single attack out of every anime I’ve seen ever. I tend to forget a lot of things, but when considering the attacks I did keep in memory, one did shine through.
Father Son Kamehameha Versus Cell - Dragon Ball Z
First of all, I totally alluded to this answer in a previous challenge day. Back to that religious Dragon Ball Z following I did when I was younger, the Android/Cell arc was my absolute favorite. Further, teen Gohan was like my role model because he could wreck schoolwork and be a super saiyan.
Now, as for this specific attack, Gohan was wounded and Goku was dead. Using King Kai’s telepathy, Goku reached out to Gohan to reason with him in the face of defeat - Cell charging his own Kamehameha. Heeding his dad’s words, Gohan starts charging his Kamehameha with one hand, which is extremely badass. Channeling his own energy, as well as potentially some help from his dad, Gohan released his Kamehameha to meet Cell’s. This clash of the waves lasted about an entire episode and threatened to destroy the planet. Finally, after some interference with Cell’s concentration via an attack from Vegeta, Gohan releases everything he has. His Kamehameha overpowers Cell’s, and he starts that hella cool forward walking in the third gif. Following, the intense music starts as Cell begins to be ripped apart. What a great end to an arc.
Bonus - Shout out to the Boing Chop (Yes, this is an attack):
