Can you imagine interacting with a floating hologram?

In the weeks leading up to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, I received dozens of emails from exhibitors from around the world.  I read many, & in some cases connected with companies to learn more about their products & services. ️️

This year there was a record number of Japanese startups at CES. iMuzak & Catlog were among them.

I zoomed with Misa Suzuki at iMuzak, ️ who spoke on behalf of her CEO, Kazumi Sawamura. She explained iMuzak’s 3D projection interface which was inspired by Princess Leia’s hologram in Star Wars.

Instead of touching a physical object, like a button,  their product, (a microlens), creates holographic images that float in front of a source image, like an elevator panel.

Imagine touching a floating #3D image that responds! I wondered if there is a sensation when touching “air?”  They’re working on integrating haptics  so users will feel like they’re touching an object, kind of like smart phones that no longer have clickable buttons but make noises. In our “contactless” world, this seems like a timely concept.  It’s found at: http://imuzak.co.jp/

DID YOU KNOW worldwide there are 3x as many cats as dogs?  In 2020, there were 9.64 million cats living in Japan.

If you live in Japan,  Catlog is wearable health tech for cats that collects data on activities & can detect trends like weight loss or lethargy. I asked Momoka Naoi their purpose for being at CES? It helped them to understand US  users and what kinds of needs they should consider if they choose to extend their reach here. It’s found at: https://rabo.cat/en/lp/

There were some eye-popping exhibits, like the BMW that changes colors. You can check out the “B-Roll” ️ on my Wordpress post to view a couple of videos.

Would you ever want to check out CES?  It’s honestly amazing.

The amaryllis opened the 5th flower! Sadly the other ones are beginning to wrinkle, but it still looks super pretty. Most of the autumnal bulbs I planted around the 1st of November sprouted already and are doing fine, I changed their place in the greenhouse so they get more sunlight.

Today there was a sale of small flowers and bulbs in a nearby market, I bought african violets, pink chrisanthemums (I gave one to mum for her office), a pink kalanchoe, blue and pink hyacints and narcissus.
