Sidenote: Honestly, I always felt that Ursa should have been publicly executed or something. That way the whole “The FN took my mom away trom me” convo would be more equivalent.
I kind of like the idea that Zuko and the ZK kids, especially Kya, really love staying in the Southern Water Tribe, particularly in the seasons where the sun hangs in the air all day into the night. Wouldn’t firebenders enjoy that? Must feel really nice n.n
It’s funny; I saw a bunch of Zutara people posting Southern Water Tribe Zuko and Katara lately, and I’ve had this drawing on the backburner for a while and I was like… the hive mind! I love all the parallel thinking in this community; it’s so fun XD So I finally finished this with a real quick background after working on the character drawings for far too long. Is what it is. :| But really, thank you to all the Zutara peeps who have made this year bearable (you know who you are n.n); I’m really grateful to all the friends made this year and hope for better times for everyone in the future.
Anyway, just some Southern Water Tribe Zutara with progeny for the winter season. Hope everyone is having safe and happy holidays!

ZUTARA FAM ● Featuring some steam babies ! Since I can’t find the time to do the prompts for Zutara month. Here are some poorly rendered sketches because I wanted to serve my fam, the zutara stans, a little something from all the love you’ve recently been showing my art.
So, Izumi (the daughter) is the one that looks like Katara but with the eyes of Zuko and is a fire bender. Amka Aoi (the son) looks like Zuko but has the eyes of Katara and is a water bender. Common feature both have Zuko’s brows and Katara’s curls.
These are moments inspired by the fan fic written by my uni best bud @takawbelle , “Out Of Place” on AO3. The steam babies were a collaborative accident between her and I. We just imagined our steam babies the same way. Oh, btw, you can find the steam babies’ older version here.

I think I’ve read every Zutara fic possible at this point. My favorite being canon divergent AUs (obvi since Zutara itself is canon divergent). I also would love recs to read, so if you have them drop them below.

Another “What if…” project coming to life just like Zustara!
Everyone is welcome to join! We’ll be sharing a playlist consisting of Original Pinoy Music (OPM) for inspiration. The idea is to create something that is based or inspired by an OPM song which may be in Filipino or English.
Regardless of what language we speak, I believe that there’s a golden thread that connects us and in this case, it’s Zutara. #ZutaraOPM Week means learning that we’re not so different after all. That we’re all connected to each other. That we’re parts of the same whole. Breaking the illusion of separation irl where it matters.
Zuko looked down at her, wishing he could go back three years ago and set it all right; maybe then they both would’ve been saved the heartache. She wished the same thing, as he approached her, coming dangerously close.
They spent too much time wishing.
“I don’t want to marry Mai.” Zuko said plainly.
Katara layed a hand on his broad chest gently, trailing her fingers down him. She wasn’t pushing away; if anything, she was savouring this. Savouring how simple it was, how he was more than enough, how this was all more than enough. He didn’t have to ask; of course he didn’t. But he did anyway, just in case, just to make sure, just to be certain.
Just to know if she felt what he did.
“Do you want to marry Aang?” He murmured.
Anguish made her face twist, as her hand continued to play with the fabric of his shirt on his chest. She didn’t look up at him; didn’t dare to. She continued to stare at his broad, firm chest; the longer she did, the more her face crumpled. The longer she stared, the more her lip wobbled. The longer she did, the urge to sob and scream and cry and weep overwhelmed her.
