–Marie Antoinette, to Madame de Tourzel, October 5th 1789; the queen told Madame de Tourzel that she had refused to sleep the King’s rooms and that her children should be brought to the King (rather than herself) in case of any noise or tumult from the crowd surrounding the palace.
