“Toru and I tracked this monster for quite a bit, eventually taking us into a depression deep in the Badlands. The temperatures in the desert already can be overwhelming, but here, unless you’re a monster specifically built to take it, you’re practically asking to be cooked alive. The whole area is rife with geothermal springs and tectonic activity, with mineral buildup having accumulated here for what I can only assume to be centuries.”
“In the New World, Dodogama feeds primarily on crystalburst. Here, there’s no crystal, but the mineral buildup more than makes up for it, and we were lucky enough to catch our quarry in action as it dug up its next meal. The yellow deposits appear to be its favorite, so I pocketed some samples once it had moved on. Not exactly something I want to do again, however—the rotten egg smell is enough to make your stomach turn.”

“Dodogama Delicacy” quest submission for Monster Hunter Riders!
Dire Miralis, The Lord of Hell Fire and Calamity, on His way to the Tainted Sea. The long journey leads Him through the Flooded Forest, leaving the area in smoke and fog. A great windstorm follows Him south to his destination where He will feast on the flesh and souls of His victims, leaving nothing but the wrecks on the ocean’s bed. The only witness to His arrival and general existence will be the trail of blood and destructions He leaves behind.
