DIY Sandcastle Cake

Funfetti cake mixes were used for the structure of the cake, topped with a buttercream icing, and marshmallow details.

The “sand” is made of crushed vanilla wafers that you roll onto the buttercream iced cake.

DIY Punch Needle Embroidery Pillow

If you aren’t up to tackling a huge embroidery project, why not choose a short word to needle punch? You can customize a gift by picking the perfect word for your gift recipient.

I’m thinking about my favorite FB group called “Snarky Crafters: Because Punching People Is Frowned Upon”, and the words and phrases they would choose.

Lucite Bathtub Caddy|A Beautiful Mess

I sadly don’t have a bathtub at home. Sigh. One day. But I’ve been looking for a tray to go on my sideboard at home that will fit all my perfumes, candles and various other bits and pieces that I have on display! What I love the most about this tray is that it has the gold handles for interest but the lucite means the focus is on what’s on top, not the tray itself. Plus no matter where you choose to use it, it’s easy to wipe down and keep clean. The ABM girls do it again!

Rose Petal & Walnut Seed Scrub|A Beautiful Mess

There’s nothing as easy and luxurious as a scrub. And a scrub with skin loving ingredients like rose petal, chamomile and almond oil is even better! You should be able to pick up all of the ingredients from your health food store (or try online to get them cheaper) and you can use them in other recipes like melt and pour soaps or candles. When looking at your oil base, sweet almond, jojoba and hemp are all skin loving. Then relax, scrub and enjoy!

Gemstone Soap (Two Ways)|A Beautiful Mess

I recently took a break from soap making, but I’m finding more and more awesome projects that are tempting me to pull out my old melt and pour! If you’ve wanted to try your hand at making soap but are scared of lye and the time consuming process, then melt and pour is going to be your jam. And look at how pretty these pieces turned out - you could make these in bulk in some luscious scents and give as gifts this Christmas! And of course a couple to keep!

Homemade Holiday Card. From a HUGE blog. Nothing says “I DON’T CARE” like a card that could’ve been made by a six year old. Actually this card would be so adorable and cute if it was made by a six year old… but it wasn’t. http://www.abeautifulmess.com/2013/11/make-your-own-holiday-card.html If you go to GOMI their “DIY Fails” forum is filled with A Beautiful Mess’ crafts for a reason. http://getoffmyinternets.net/forums/lifestyle-bloggers/a-beautiful-mess-1/
