I will be going to a screening of “A Hard Day’s Night” with my parents today. It’s a bit of a belated anniversary present for them. My parents celebrated their 40th anniversary last month. I thought this would be a cute outing for them. <3

Question 1: Parmi tous ceux qui ont été représentés au cinéma, quel est votre dieu préféré ?
J'ai choisi les Beatles dans “A Hard Day’s Night” (Richard Lester, 1964). Okay, boutade. Mais mis à part qu'ils sont dans mon panthéon personnel depuis au moins 35 ans, il y a bien quelques similitudes entre une religion et le culte des fan(atique)s. Très bien vu par Lester dans cette scène d'ouverture et son jeu d'apparitions, disparitions et de réapparitions du groupe.

The images are from A Hard Day’s Night producer Walter Shenson’s collection and author Mark Lewisohn added an engaging introduction and epilogue as well as image captions. Richard Lester, the film’s Director, wrote the foreword.

In all honestly, if I didn’t know who John Lennon is or what he looked like, and someone showed me a photo of him in 1964 and 1967, I would probably think they’re two different people.
